Perge and Aspendos From Antalya Airport, Belek and Side

Updated 22 October 2026

Short answer: Perge is about 11 km and 15 minutes from Antalya Airport (AYT), and Aspendos is about 40 km and 36 minutes; both lie close to the road towards Belek and Side. A private transfer to Belek starts from €40 per vehicle and to Side from €45, shown before you pay. A stop at the ruins is not a standard part of our transfer, so ask us on WhatsApp before booking. Without a car, the tram to Aksu plus a walk or village bus reaches Perge, and the bus to Serik plus a dolmuş or taxi reaches Aspendos. Entry in 2026 is 11 euros for Perge and 15 euros for Aspendos, and the Perge theatre is closed for restoration.

Perge and Aspendos are the two big Roman-period sites near Antalya, and both sit on the Aksu and Serik side of the plain, between the airport and the Belek and Side resorts. That makes them easy to fit around a transfer day, but public transport gets you only part of the way. This guide sets out the distances, the fees, what is closed, and how each way of getting there works from the airport, Belek and Side.

Private Transfer and a Stop at the Sites

Our transfers run from the airport to your hotel or address. Belek starts from €40 per vehicle and Side from €45 per vehicle (Mercedes Vito, up to 6 passengers), and the exact price for your address is shown before you pay. See our Antalya Airport to Belek and Antalya Airport to Side guides for the resort areas and road times. Your driver waits just outside the arrivals exit and, after you land, sends the exact meeting point and a short video on WhatsApp. Our drivers speak English, there is no extra charge for traffic or flight delays, and child seats are available on request.

A visit to Perge or Aspendos on the way is not a standard part of the service, and we do not print a price for it. If you would like one, ask us on WhatsApp before booking, with your flight time and hotel, and we will tell you whether it fits. Do not assume a stop is included.

It is worth thinking about the bags before you ask. The ruins are open-air sites, and an arrival-day stop means carrying nothing heavy and leaving the suitcases in the vehicle. It is often simpler to go to the hotel first, then visit on another day by taxi or booked car from the resort.

Taxi From the Airport

Taxis wait outside every arrivals exit around the clock. Airport taxis use the central Antalya tariff: a start fee of ≈€0.70 (₺40) plus ≈€0.90 (₺50) per km, with no night rate. The fare is whatever the meter shows at the end, so a trip to Perge (about 11 km) costs a fraction of one to Aspendos (about 40 km), and slow traffic adds to it. We do not quote a total here because the exact fare depends on the route and the traffic. Agree the destination before you set off and insist on the meter. Our Antalya Airport taxi prices guide explains the tariff and how to pay.

Perge by Tram and Walk or Village Bus

Perge is in the Aksu district, and the AntRay tram reaches it from the airport:

  1. Tram T1A from the airport. Board at the Havalimanı stop beside Terminal 1 and ride to Yonca, about 6 minutes. The first tram leaves the airport at 06:31 and the last at 00:05.
  2. Change at Yonca for Aksu. After Yonca, the T1B (to EXPO) and T1C (to Aksu) lines branch off. Both stop at Aksu, so any tram showing Aksu or EXPO works. Check the destination on the front of the tram.
  3. From Aksu to the site. The ruins are about 2 km from the Aksu tram stop, on foot or by taxi. The municipal timetable lists village bus lines AC05, AC05A and AC05B serving the "Perge Antik Kenti" stops; they are local lines with few departures, so check the Antalyakart app before you rely on one.

A tram ride costs ≈€0.75 (₺42) with an Antalyakart or ≈€0.90 (₺50) with a contactless bank card at the time of writing. There is no cash on the tram. Our Antalya Airport bus and tram guide has the timetable and the ticket options, and the Antalyakart guide explains the card.

The Theatre Is Closed

The ancient theatre at Perge is closed for restoration until the work is finished. The rest of the site is open, but do not plan your visit around the theatre, and look at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism page for the current status before you go.

Aspendos by Bus to Serik

Aspendos is in the Belkıs area of Serik district. There is no municipal bus stop named Aspendos or Belkıs, so the public route has two legs:

  1. Bus SA19 from Antalya to Serik. The municipal line leaves from the district platform at the Antalya bus station and runs along the D400 to Serik. At the time of writing, intercity buses from the bus station to Serik are listed at roughly 40 to 57 minutes. To reach the bus station from the airport, take the tram T1A or the city bus 600 (see our bus and tram guide).
  2. From Serik to the site. Take a local minibus (dolmuş) or a taxi. Walking from the D400 turn-off is a long way, often quoted as about 4 km, so it does not suit luggage or midday heat.

With two changes and an uncertain last leg, this is the most work of any option in this guide. If you are staying in Belek, Aspendos is only about 18 km away, and a taxi or a booked car is much simpler.

Tickets, MüzeKart and the Audio Guide

Fees for foreign visitors in 2026 are 11 euros for Perge and 15 euros for Aspendos. From 1 April 2027 they rise to 12 euros and 16 euros, and the Aspendos price then includes the audio guide. Turkish ID holders enter with the MüzeKart. If you see "₺135" quoted online for Aspendos, that is the audio-guide fee, not the entry fee. With only two sites on your list, a regional museum pass is unlikely to pay off, so compare the pass price with the fees above on the official site.

Both sites are open daily, and the ticket office closes at 18:30, half an hour before the gates. Aspendos has an audio guide on site. Bring water and a hat in summer.

The Aspendos Opera and Ballet Festival

The State Opera and Ballet General Directorate stages the Aspendos International Opera and Ballet Festival in the ancient theatre every September. The 33rd edition in 2026 ran from 12 to 26 September, with four productions in six performances, all starting at 21:00. The 2027 dates have not been announced, so check the official programme and ticketing before you plan a trip around them.

A 21:00 start finishes late, and you should not count on a late bus or dolmuş from Aspendos afterwards. Arrange the return in advance. If you want us to look at a pickup after a performance, message us on WhatsApp with your hotel, group size and the time you expect to finish before you book.

Planning a Day From Belek or Side

If you are staying in Belek, Aspendos is the closer site (about 18 km) and Perge is about 27 km away. From Side the figures are about 35 km to Aspendos and about 60 km to Perge, so a day trip to both makes a long day and suits a booked car better than public transport. Our Belek guide explains the Kadriye, Belek centre and Boğazkent areas, and the Side guide lists the resorts around Side.
