Meeting Your Driver at Bodrum Airport (BJV)
Short answer: walk out of the arrivals exit of the terminal where you collect your bags. Milas-Bodrum Airport (BJV) has two separate passenger buildings, International and Domestic, each with its own arrivals exit. Your driver tracks your flight and waits just outside that exit. Once you land, switch on mobile data or join the free airport Wi-Fi: your driver sends the exact meeting point and a short video on WhatsApp.

At Bodrum the terminal you land at is not always the one where you leave. If you fly in from abroad via Istanbul, for example, you land at the domestic terminal but are sent to the international terminal for your bags and customs. This guide follows you from the aircraft to the car: which exit you will use, what is on the arrivals floor, how to get online so the WhatsApp message reaches you, and what to do if your flight changes or you cannot see your driver.
Step by Step: From Landing to the Car
- Switch your phone on: after landing, turn off flight mode and switch on mobile data, or connect to the free airport Wi-Fi (see below). Your driver's WhatsApp message with the meeting point and the video comes after you land, so keep an eye on it.
- Passport control (direct international flights only): on a direct flight from abroad you pass passport control first; the international terminal has 18 arrivals passport counters. Domestic passengers, and passengers who already entered Turkey at another airport such as Istanbul, skip this step.
- Baggage claim: the information screens show which belt your bags are on. The international terminal has 6 baggage carousels and the domestic terminal has 5. If a bag is missing or damaged, report it to your airline's ground-handling company in the baggage claim area before you leave the building, and send your driver a quick WhatsApp message so they know you are held up.
- Customs: international arrivals go through customs; with nothing to declare, take the green channel.
- Arrivals exit: walk out of the arrivals exit of your terminal. Do not head for the taxi rank or the coach stop: your driver meets you just outside the exit, at the meeting point shown in the WhatsApp message and video.
- To the car: your driver helps with your luggage and walks with you to the vehicle.
International or Domestic: Which Exit Will You Use?
The terminal is decided by the type of flight, not by the airline: the same airline can use both buildings depending on the flight. You do not have to work out which one is yours, because your driver knows your flight and waits outside the right exit. It still helps to know what to expect:
| You arrive on | Formalities at Bodrum | You come out at |
|---|---|---|
| A direct international flight | Passport control, baggage claim, customs | International Terminal exit |
| A domestic flight within Turkey | Baggage claim only | Domestic Terminal exit |
| A flight from abroad via Istanbul or another Turkish airport, bags checked through to Bodrum | Baggage claim and customs (passport control was at your first Turkish airport) | International Terminal exit, although you land at the domestic terminal |
Taxis wait at both terminals, so you will see them outside whichever exit you use. Your driver's WhatsApp message tells you exactly where to stand.
Flying in from abroad via Istanbul?
The airport's wording is that passengers who arrive from abroad and continue to Milas-Bodrum on a domestic connection complete passport control at their first point of entry into Türkiye, then land at the domestic terminal but are directed to the international arrivals terminal for baggage claim and customs. So if your bags are checked through to Bodrum, you come out of the international exit even though you landed on the domestic side. If your bags were not checked through, you collect them and clear customs at your first airport, check in again, and arrive in Bodrum like any domestic passenger. Ask your airline which applies to you, and give us the number of the flight that lands in Bodrum, not your first flight.
How Far Apart Are the Two Terminals?
They are separate buildings, a short walk apart. The airport publishes no official distance, and visitors' estimates differ. It does not list a shuttle between them. You should not need to walk from one to the other: if the WhatsApp message tells you to meet at the other terminal, it will say so and the video shows the route.
What Is on the Arrivals Floor
These are the facilities the airport lists for arrivals. Your driver does not wait at any of them.
| What | Where | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| SIM cards | International Terminal arrivals, after customs: a Turkcell sales stand and a Vodafone shop | Opening hours are not published; you will need your passport |
| Cash machines | Domestic Terminal: next to the entrance doors. International Terminal: a Denizbank machine in arrivals before you leave the secure area | The main bank of machines is on the domestic side; the airport lists seven Turkish banks there |
| Currency exchange | An exchange office in the International Terminal, listed as open 24 hours | It is listed on the departures side, landside, so it is not the first thing you pass on arrival |
| Taxis | Arrivals areas of both terminals | 24 hours a day; there is no night rate |
| Airport meeting points | Three at the international terminal, one at the domestic terminal | The airport's own public meeting points. Your driver does not use them: they wait just outside the arrivals exit |
The airport divides the year into a summer season (April to October) and a winter season (November to March), and some international-terminal services close or shorten their hours in winter. Winter hours are usually shorter, so check the official airport site before you go. Your driver is always at the exit of whichever terminal your flight uses.
Getting Online So WhatsApp Works
The meeting point and the video come by WhatsApp, so the one thing to sort out is data. Make sure the phone number you gave when booking has WhatsApp, then pick one of these:
- Roaming: the simplest option if your plan covers Turkey. Turkey is outside the EU's roam-like-at-home area, so check your operator's rates before you fly.
- eSIM: a travel eSIM installed before you fly connects once you land. Check that it covers Turkey and that your phone supports eSIM before you buy.
- Free airport Wi-Fi: connect to TAV-FREE-WIFI, available in both terminals. The access code is sent to you by SMS. If your phone has no roaming and cannot receive an SMS, the airport says you can get a password at a Wi-Fi kiosk with your ID.
- Turkish SIM: you can buy one at the Turkcell or Vodafone stand in international arrivals, with your passport. If you land on a domestic flight, the stands are in the other building, so use one of the options above for the WhatsApp message.
Delays, Early Landings and Late Flights
We track your flight in real time. If it lands early or late, the pickup adjusts to the actual landing time, so a delay on the flight you booked needs no message from you. There is no extra charge for traffic or flight delays.
Your driver knows that passport control and baggage claim can take a while, so there is no need to rush. If you are held up for longer, for example by a missing bag, reply to your driver's WhatsApp message.
Late-night and early-morning landings work the same way: your driver tracks the flight and waits just outside the arrivals exit, whatever the hour. After a late international arrival the airport coach is not an option (see below), so a booked driver is often the easier choice.
If Your Flight Changes: What to Send Us
Flight tracking follows the flight number you booked with. If you are moved to another flight, miss a connection or change your travel date, tell us as soon as you know, on WhatsApp or by phone on +90 544 102 1414 (24/7). Send us:
- your booking reference and the lead passenger's name
- the new flight number, date and scheduled landing time in Bodrum
- where the flight comes from, and whether you now connect via Istanbul or another Turkish airport, so we know which exit you will use
- any change in the number of passengers, suitcases or child seats
Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before your pickup time.
Luggage, Child Seats and Groups
- Luggage: a Mercedes Vito takes up to 6 passengers and 7 suitcases, and a Mercedes Sprinter up to 15 passengers and 20 suitcases. Your driver helps you load your bags.
- Bulky items and mobility: mention a pushchair, wheelchair, golf bag or bicycle, or any mobility needs, when you book, so the right vehicle comes.
- Child seats: available on request, for younger children and older ones. Ask for them when you book, so they are ready at pickup.
- Groups: give one WhatsApp number for the group and keep that phone switched on after landing. People clear passport control and collect bags at different speeds, so the first ones out can meet the driver at the point shown in the video and wait there. If the group lands on more than one flight, give us every flight number, and tell us which person is on which flight if the flights use different terminals.
If You Can't Find Your Driver
- Stay just outside the exit you came out of. Do not walk off to the car park or the taxi rank.
- Call or WhatsApp your driver on the number they messaged you from.
- Call our 24/7 line on +90 544 102 1414 (phone or WhatsApp) and we will connect you straight away.
- Say where you are: the International or the Domestic Terminal, and any shop, sign or bus stop you can see. If you came off an Istanbul connection, say so: you may be at the other building from the one you expected.
- No data? Get on TAV-FREE-WIFI with the SMS code, or with a password from a Wi-Fi kiosk (see above).
Please do not leave with anyone who approaches you offering a ride: go only with the driver who contacted you on WhatsApp. If you do take a taxi instead, use the official taxi area at the arrivals exit; the airport's taxi line is +90 252 523 00 24.
Airport Coach, Taxi or Private Transfer
The airport coach (Havaş and the municipal MUTTAŞ line 48-24) meets domestic flights only, with no fixed timetable, and runs to Bodrum bus station at Torba for about ₺270 at the time of writing (valid from 18 May 2026). The operator states that, on the airport's decision, passengers are not set down or picked up at the international terminal stop, so after an international flight do not plan around it. Taxis run around the clock from both terminals, with no night rate, but there is no price board at the airport, so agree the fare before you set off.
A private transfer from Bodrum Airport costs from €40 per vehicle to Bodrum town, Gümbet, Bitez and Torba (Mercedes Vito, up to 6 passengers). Further along the coast it is from €40 to Türkbükü, €43 to Yalıkavak, €44 to Turgutreis and €45 to Gümüşlük. The exact price for your date and pickup time is shown before you pay. Compare every option in our Bodrum Airport guide or book on the Muğla airport transfer page.

Frequently asked questions
Where will my driver wait at Bodrum Airport?
Just outside the arrivals exit of your terminal, International or Domestic. Once you land, your driver contacts you on WhatsApp with the exact meeting point and a short video showing the way.
I'm flying in from abroad via Istanbul. Which exit do I use at Bodrum?
If your bags are checked through to Bodrum, you pass passport control in Istanbul, land at the domestic terminal and are directed to the international arrivals terminal for baggage claim and customs, so you come out of the international exit. If you collected your bags in Istanbul and checked in again, you arrive like any domestic passenger. Either way, your driver's WhatsApp message after landing tells you where to go.
I'm on a domestic flight. Is anything different?
Domestic passengers skip passport control and customs and usually reach the exit sooner. Your driver knows which flight you are on and waits just outside the Domestic Terminal exit.
How far apart are the two terminals at Bodrum?
They are separate buildings, a short walk apart. The airport publishes no official distance and does not list a shuttle between them. You should not need to walk between them, because your driver waits at the exit of the terminal your flight uses.
I have no mobile data. How do I get the WhatsApp message?
Connect to the free TAV-FREE-WIFI network and enter the code sent to you by SMS. Without roaming, the airport says you can get a password at a Wi-Fi kiosk with your ID. You can also call our 24/7 line on +90 544 102 1414.
What happens if my flight is delayed or lands early?
We track your flight in real time and the pickup adjusts to the actual landing time. There is no extra charge for traffic or flight delays. If you are moved to a different flight, send us the new flight number and landing time on WhatsApp.
Can I buy a SIM card at Bodrum Airport?
The airport lists a Turkcell sales stand and a Vodafone shop in the international terminal arrivals area, after customs. Opening hours are not published and you will need your passport. A travel eSIM installed before you fly is the safer option.
Can I take the airport coach after an international flight?
The coach is timed to domestic arrivals, and the operator says no passengers are set down or picked up at the international terminal stop. After an international flight, do not plan around it; a taxi or a booked driver is the practical choice.
What should I do if I can't find my driver at Bodrum Airport?
Stay just outside the exit you came out of and call or WhatsApp your driver, or our 24/7 line on +90 544 102 1414. Tell us whether you are at the International or the Domestic Terminal and what you can see around you. Do not leave with anyone who approaches you offering a ride.
