Meeting Your Driver at Dalaman Airport (DLM)
Short answer: every flight, domestic and international, now arrives at Dalaman's Terminal 2. After passport control, the baggage hall and customs, walk out of the arrivals exit. Your driver waits just outside it. Once you have landed and switched your phone on, your driver sends the exact meeting point and a short video on WhatsApp. The airport's welcome desks, the taxi rank and the ATMs are all in the car park just beyond the exit, so go only with the driver who messaged you.

Dalaman Airport (DLM) is the gateway to Göcek, Dalyan, Fethiye, Ölüdeniz, Marmaris and the Lycian coast, and in summer the arrivals floor fills quickly with tour reps, taxi drivers and families looking for their cars. This guide walks you from the aircraft to your driver: what you pass on the way, how to get online so the WhatsApp message reaches you, what to do about a missing bag, and what to do if you cannot see your driver.
One Terminal for Every Flight
According to the airport operator's current layout plan (uploaded on 11 June 2026), all flight operations at Dalaman are carried out in the Terminal 2 building, and the airport's own map shows the older Terminal 1 as inactive. So there is no need to work out which terminal you are in: it is Terminal 2 whether you fly from London, Moscow or Istanbul. Some older websites still describe separate domestic and international terminals, and you may see that wording elsewhere.
Terminal 2 opened in July 2018 and has four storeys, with arrivals on the ground and first floors and departures above. Domestic and international passengers follow separate routes through the arrivals floor, which is why the airport lists separate Wi-Fi kiosks for "Domestic Baggage Claim Hall" and "Before International Passport Control". The arrivals floor has two exits, and your driver's WhatsApp message tells you which one to use.
Step by Step After Landing
- Switch your phone on: turn off flight mode and switch on mobile data, or connect to the airport Wi-Fi (see below). Your driver's message with the meeting point and the video arrives after you land.
- Visa office, if you need one: international passengers reach a visa office before passport control. Entry rules depend on your nationality, so check the official e-visa site (evisa.gov.tr) before you fly.
- Passport control: the airport has 32 arrivals counters. Domestic passengers do not pass through here. In summer, when several charter flights land together, queues can be long, so allow extra time.
- Baggage hall: eight belts, with a duty-free shop in the hall. The screens show which belt carries your flight.
- Customs: the customs desk is in the baggage hall. With nothing to declare, walk straight through.
- Arrivals exit: head for the exit. Do not stop at the welcome desks or the taxi rank: your driver waits just outside the exit, at the point shown in the WhatsApp message and video.
- To the car: your driver helps with your luggage and walks with you to the vehicle.
What Is Where at Dalaman Arrivals
| What | Where | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Baggage belts 1 to 8 | Baggage hall, arrivals floor | Duty free and the customs desk are in the same hall |
| Information desk | Arrivals floor | Staff also stand in the area before passport control to guide passengers |
| Exchange offices | Two on the arrivals floor | The airport does not list their opening hours |
| Lost & Found offices | Arrivals floor, one at each end | The airport's Lost & Found service is open 24 hours |
| Your driver | Just outside the arrivals exit | Exact point sent on WhatsApp after you land |
| Welcome desks (tour operators) | Car park, just after the exit | Used by tour reps and tour-operator transfers |
| Taxi rank | To the left of the terminal exit | Open 24/7, list prices per car |
| ATMs | Outside, near the taxi rank and welcome desks | Bank names and hours are not listed by the airport |
| Park Cafe | Car park in front of the terminal | Open 24/7 |
| Airport coach (Havaş / MUTTAŞ) | Car park in front of the terminal | See our Dalaman Airport bus guide |
The airport's meeting desks sit in the short-stay car park area, which is why your driver's message and video matter: they show you the way from your exit to the exact spot, without you having to search the car park.
Getting Online So WhatsApp Works
The meeting point and the video come by WhatsApp, so the one thing to sort out is data. Give a phone number with WhatsApp when you book, then pick one of these:
- Roaming: the simplest option if your plan covers Turkey. Turkey is outside the EU's roam-like-at-home area, so check your operator's rates or add a travel pass before you fly.
- eSIM or SIM bought before you fly: the airport's shop list and map show no mobile-operator shop at Dalaman, so do not plan to buy a SIM on arrival. A travel eSIM installed at home connects when you land; check that it covers Turkey and that your phone supports eSIM.
- Free airport Wi-Fi: the network is called DLM-Free-WiFi and gives 30 minutes free across the terminal. You get the password from a free Wi-Fi kiosk, using your passport (the airport also mentions your boarding pass). Kiosks stand in the domestic baggage claim hall and before international passport control, and also in the departures check-in hall. Thirty minutes should be enough to receive your driver's message and video. Longer paid Wi-Fi can be bought by credit card.
If you are on an international flight, the kiosk before passport control is the one to look for. If you cannot get online at all, see "If You Can't Find Your Driver" below.
Money: ATMs and Exchange Offices
The airport lists banks and exchange offices in the terminal. Its map shows two exchange offices on the arrivals floor and a third on the departures floor, plus ATMs outside, next to the taxi rank and the welcome desks. The airport does not list opening hours for the exchange offices or the ATMs' banks, so for a late landing the outdoor ATMs are the safer bet. Keep some lira for small items. You do not need cash for your private transfer, because the price is shown before you pay.
Delays, Early Landings and Late Flights
We track your flight in real time. If it lands early or late, the pickup adjusts to the actual landing time, so a delay on the flight you booked needs no message from you. There is no extra charge for traffic or flight delays.
Your driver also knows that passport control and the baggage hall can take a while, so there is no need to rush. If you are held up for longer, for example by a missing bag, WhatsApp us or reply to your driver's message so they know. Night landings work the same way; see arriving at Dalaman Airport at night for what else is open at that hour.
If Your Flight Changes: What to Send Us
Flight tracking follows the flight number you booked with. If you are moved to another flight, miss a connection or change your date, tell us as soon as you know, on WhatsApp or by phone on +90 544 102 1414 (24/7). Send:
- your booking reference and the lead passenger's name
- the new flight number, date and scheduled landing time at Dalaman
- any change in passengers, suitcases or child seats
- a WhatsApp number that will work on arrival, if it differs from the one in your booking
If you connect through Istanbul or another Turkish airport, give us the number of the flight that lands at Dalaman, not your first flight.
If Your Luggage Is Missing
If your bag does not appear on the belt, go to your airline's lost baggage desk in the baggage claim area before you leave. You will be asked to fill in a PIR form; keep your copy. Send your driver a short WhatsApp message so they know you are delayed.
The airport's own Lost & Found service is open 24 hours and covers items left in the terminal. It keeps items for between one and five years and has an online form that takes about two business days to process. Anything left on the aircraft is a matter for the airline.
Luggage, Child Seats and Groups
- Luggage: a Mercedes Vito takes up to 6 passengers and 7 suitcases, and a Mercedes Sprinter up to 15 passengers and 20 suitcases. Your driver helps you load your bags.
- Child seats: available on request. Ask for them when you book, so they are ready at pickup.
- Bulky items: mention a pushchair, folding wheelchair, golf bag or bicycle when you book, so the right vehicle comes.
- Groups: give one WhatsApp number for the group and keep that phone on after landing. People clear passport control and collect bags at different speeds, so the first ones out can meet the driver and wait there. If you land on different flights, give us every flight number.
If You Can't Find Your Driver
- Stay just outside the exit you came out of. Do not wander off to the car park or the taxi rank.
- Look at the video in your driver's WhatsApp message and compare it with what you can see.
- Call or WhatsApp your driver on the number they messaged you from.
- Call or WhatsApp our 24/7 line on +90 544 102 1414 and we will connect you straight away.
- Say where you are: your exit, and any shop, sign or desk you can see.
- No data? Get a Wi-Fi password at a kiosk, or ask at the airport information desk on the arrivals floor.
Tour operator reps work at the welcome desks. Please go only with the driver who contacted you on WhatsApp. If you decide to take a taxi instead, use the official rank to the left of the exit and read our Dalaman Airport taxi prices guide first. Agree the destination before you set off, and carry some lira in case the driver cannot take a card. The airport's first-aid clinic is open 24 hours and the airport's phone number is +90 252 792 55 55; for an emergency anywhere in Turkey, dial 112.
Is a Private Transfer Worth It?
A private transfer costs from €50 per vehicle to Göcek, from €50 to Dalyan, from €55 to Fethiye and from €96 to Marmaris (Mercedes Vito, up to 6 passengers). The exact price for your date and pickup time is shown before you pay. For comparison, the airport taxi cooperative lists ≈€25 (₺1,400) per car to Göcek and ≈€54 (₺3,000) to Fethiye at the time of writing, and the Havaş / MUTTAŞ coach to Fethiye bus station is ≈€5.50 (₺300) per person. The coach is timed to domestic arrivals, so after an international flight a driver who is already waiting is often the easier choice. The full comparison is in our Dalaman Airport guide, and you can book on the Muğla airport transfer page.
