Dalaman Airport to Marmaris, İçmeler and Turunç
Short answer: Marmaris is about 96.5 km and 1 h 35 min from Dalaman Airport (DLM), İçmeler 104 km and about 1 h 50 min, and Turunç 116.6 km and about 2 h 10 min. A private transfer is from €96 to Marmaris, from €104 to İçmeler and from €117 to Turunç, per vehicle (Mercedes Vito, up to 6 passengers), with the price shown before you pay.

Marmaris, İçmeler and Turunç share one bay system at the end of a long drive: all three are more than 95 km from Dalaman, and Turunç is the farthest. The airport coach reaches Marmaris only, so for the other two you either change to a local dolmuş or take a taxi or private transfer. This guide compares the options, explains the dolmuş lines, and covers four things visitors do from here: the castle museum, Sedir (Cleopatra) Island, the Setur marina and bazaar area, and the ferry to Rhodes.

The Airport Coach to Marmaris (Line 48-26)
MUTTAŞ, Muğla's municipal transport company, and Havaş run the coach on the same route and at the same fares. It is listed as line 48-26, Marmaris Otogar to Dalaman Airport, with a route length of about 100 km. After the airport it calls at Ortaca, Köyceğiz (on the D400 road) and the Gökova junction before it reaches Marmaris bus station. The fare from the airport to Marmaris is ≈€7.50 (₺420) per person, valid from 18 May 2026. For comparison, the published 2026 fares are ₺300 to the Gökova junction, ₺270 to Köyceğiz and ₺220 to Ortaca.
Two points shape how you use it:
- No booking. MUTTAŞ states that reservations and advance tickets are not sold for the airport vehicles.
- No fixed timetable from the airport. The operator says the return times from Dalaman to Marmaris bus station vary with aircraft landing times, and that its vehicles meet passengers arriving on domestic flights. If you land on an international flight, expect to wait for the next coach that leaves for a domestic arrival.
Cards are accepted on MUTTAŞ vehicles, so plan to pay by card. Allow about 90 minutes for the ride, plus the wait. This is the same coach described in our Fethiye and Marmaris guide.
Marmaris to İçmeler and Turunç by Dolmuş
Both local lines are run under the MUTTAŞ network and accept the Muğla Kart. The fares below are for the two-ride card, which is the realistic fare for a visitor; the personal card costs a little less. Paying by contactless bank card is also listed as possible on board.
| Line | Route | Frequency | Fare (two-ride card) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10-1A | Marmaris bus station to İçmeler, 13 km, along the seafront hotel strip | Every 30 min, 07:00 to 23:59, from both ends, every day | ₺59 (₺42 personal card), the same for any distance |
| 10-15 | Marmaris to Turunç, 22 km, via the İçmeler seafront, İçmeler market and the Turunç junction | From Marmaris hourly 08:00 to 19:00, then 20:30 and 22:00; from Turunç 07:30, then hourly to 19:00, last 20:30 | ₺115 Marmaris to Turunç (₺89 personal card); ₺87 İçmeler to Turunç (₺68 personal card) |
Timetables are as published on the MUTTAŞ site at the time of writing: line 10-1A was last updated in May 2025 and line 10-15 in September 2026. Some 10-15 runs detour via Dereözü. Check the current times on ulasim.muttas.com.tr before you rely on a late connection.
Line 10-1A starts at the stop the timetable calls Marmaris Terminalı, which appears to be the bus station area where the airport coach ends. That makes the coach-plus-dolmuş route workable in daylight and the early evening, and the 10-1A timetable runs to midnight. Line 10-15 stops earlier, with the last departure from Marmaris at 22:00, so for Turunç a late arrival from Dalaman usually means a taxi or a private transfer. Counting the airport wait, the coach, the walk to the stop and the dolmuş, the whole trip is a long day with luggage.
Taxi From the Airport
The Dalaman Airport Taxi Cooperative publishes a list of fixed fares per car: ≈€90 (₺5,000) to Marmaris, ≈€94 (₺5,200) to İçmeler (the list groups it with Yalancıboğaz) and ₺6,000 to Turunç at the time of writing. The rank is outside the terminal and works around the clock, and there is no night rate. Agree the fare and the exact address before you set off, and ask whether card payment is accepted. For two or more people, compare the taxi with a pre-booked transfer: the price is often close.
Private Transfer
Our driver tracks your flight and waits just outside the arrivals exit. After you land, the driver sends the exact meeting point and a short video on WhatsApp, so you do not need to look for anyone. Drivers speak English. The price is per vehicle, not per person, it is shown before you pay, and there is no extra charge for traffic or flight delays. A Mercedes Vito takes up to 6 passengers with luggage, a V-Class VIP is available for smaller groups and a Sprinter suits larger parties. Child seats are available on request.
Prices start at €96 for Marmaris, €104 for İçmeler and €117 for Turunç. There is no separate route page for these three, so choose the destination on our Dalaman Airport Transfer page and compare all routes on the transfer prices page. If you plan to stay somewhere other than the hotel zones above, tell us the address when you book.
Which Option Suits Which Trip
- Two people, light bags, daytime, staying in Marmaris: the coach is the cheapest option, and the bus station is a short taxi or walk from the centre.
- Staying in İçmeler: the coach plus dolmuş 10-1A works until late, but a taxi or transfer saves a change with bags.
- Staying in Turunç: the longest drive of the three, 116.6 km and about 2 h 10 min by road. A taxi or private transfer is the simple choice, especially after an international flight or in the evening.
- Families and groups: a single vehicle is easier than several dolmuş seats, and a Mercedes Vito holds up to 6 passengers with luggage.
Marmaris Castle and Museum
The Marmaris Museum sits inside the castle on the peninsula behind the harbour. The ministry's portal says the castle was built in 1522 on the orders of Süleyman the Magnificent, as the Rhodes campaign was prepared, according to the traveller Evliya Çelebi. It has four corner bastions and seven covered rooms around a courtyard, and stairs lead up to the walls. The exhibition halls cover Knidos, the Burgaz and Emecik area, Marmaris and its surroundings, and stone works.
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Foreign visitors, 2026 | 6 euros, including ages 8 to 18; children under 8 free |
| From 1 April 2027 | 7 euros, according to the ministry's 2027 fee list |
| Summer hours (1 May to 15 October) | 08:30 to 19:30, ticket office closes 19:00 |
| Winter hours (16 October to 1 May) | 08:30 to 17:30, ticket office closes 17:00 |
| Open | Daily |
Winter hours are usually shorter, so check the official site before you go. Museum Pass The Aegean, which covers Marmaris among other museums, costs 95 euros for seven days in 2026.
The lanes of Kaleiçi, the old quarter, lie at the foot of the castle, so a visit can be combined with a walk around the old quarter.
The Marina and the Bazaar
Setur Netsel Marmaris Marina is the town-centre marina. Setur gives its capacity as 701 berths in the water and 70 on land. A short walk from the harbour and marinas, the covered Grand Bazaar (Kapalı Çarşı) sells leather, jewellery, carpets, spices, ceramics and souvenirs along narrow, awning-covered lanes, according to travel guides.
Sedir (Cleopatra) Island
Sedir Island is the ancient city of Kedrai, a first-degree archaeological and natural protected area run by the ministry through the Marmaris Museum directorate. It is the largest of three islands in the eastern Gulf of Gökova, in Ula district, on the north side of the Marmaris peninsula, not in Marmaris bay. The site has a theatre that held about 2,500, a sanctuary of Apollo, a large basilica of the 5th and 6th centuries, an agora and walls.
- Getting there: the ministry says the island is reached only by sea, on day-trip boats from Çamlı village in Marmaris or from the Akyaka neighbourhood of Ula. No boat fare is published officially, so ask at the quay. Akyaka is covered in our Akyaka and Datça guide.
- By dolmuş to Çamlı: line 10-18 Çamlı to Marmaris has a stop named Sedir Adası Kleopetra and four runs a day in the timetable, from Marmaris at 09:30, 12:30, 16:00 and 18:00 and from Çamlı at 07:30, 10:30, 14:00 and 17:00. That timetable was last updated in September 2025, so check it. Marmaris to Çamlı is ₺70 on the two-ride card.
- Site entry in 2026: 13 euros for foreign visitors, 15 euros from 1 April 2027. A Turkish MüzeKart only gives a discount here.
- Hours: 09:00 to 17:30, ticket office closes at 17:00, daily on the ministry's site. The ticketing portal lists longer summer hours, to 19:30, from 1 June to 15 October. Winter hours are usually shorter, so check before you go.
- Sand: taking sand from Cleopatra Beach is forbidden. The story that Mark Antony brought the sand from Egypt for Cleopatra is a legend.
Ferry to Rhodes
Yeşil Marmaris Lines runs the Marmaris to Rhodes ferry from the Marmaris passenger port to Rhodes tourist port. The crossing takes about 60 minutes, sailings run every day of the week, and there are more of them in summer. On the operator's booking page, 29 October 2026 showed sailings from Marmaris at 08:30, 10:00 and 16:00. The operator's route page lists adult fares of 60 euros for a same-day return and 95 euros for a return on another day. The page is undated, so check the operator's site for the current fare and times.
Passport and visa rules for Greece depend on your nationality and are yours to check before you book. Arrive at the port with your documents and allow time for check-in.
