Ölüdeniz Blue Lagoon: Fees, Paragliding and Getting There From Dalaman

Updated 22 October 2026

Short answer: since May 2026 the Blue Lagoon (Kumburnu) charges ₺150 per person on foot and ₺750 per car including parking, at the time of writing. The public Belcekız beach in Ölüdeniz is free. From Dalaman Airport it is about 66 to 68 km and 1 hour 5 to 10 minutes by road. Our private transfer costs from €53 per vehicle, an airport taxi ≈€63 (₺3,500) on the list fare, or you can take the airport coach to Fethiye (≈€5.50 / ₺300 per person) and dolmuş 3-40 (≈€2 / ₺115). The Babadağ cable car was ₺890 return from April 2026, and paragliding is sold by private operators with no official price.

Ölüdeniz is one of the best-known beaches in Turkey, and most of what people ask before a trip is practical: what the lagoon now costs, whether the free beach is any good, how to fit in the cable car or a paraglide, and how to get there from Dalaman without a long wait. This guide covers those points. For the full list of coaches, taxi fares and resort-by-resort times from the airport, see our Dalaman Airport to Fethiye, Ölüdeniz, Göcek and Marmaris guide, which we do not repeat here.

Fees in lira change often and several of these are set by private operators, not by an official tariff. Treat them as the level at the time of writing and confirm at the gate or ticket office.

Blue Lagoon Fees: What You Pay in 2026

The Blue Lagoon is the sheltered bay at Kumburnu, the one on the postcards. The beach has been leased since 2020 for 20 years to a company now called Kıyı Yönetim ve Çevre Koruma A.Ş. (formerly MUÇEV), so it does not follow the national park price list. From early May 2026, according to three Turkish outlets that agree with each other, the rates are:

There is no second ticket for the beach itself. Check opening hours with your hotel or at the gate. Do not confuse the lagoon with Kıdrak, a separate beach to the east.

The car fee is per vehicle, so for a family of four it is ₺750 by car against ₺600 on foot. Ask at the gate whether passengers in a car pay on top of the vehicle fee. If you are staying in Ölüdeniz, walking in is usually simpler than driving.

Belcekız: The Free Beach

Belcekız is the long public beach along the main Ölüdeniz seafront, and entry is free. It is where most of the cafés, restaurants and sunbed operators are, and where the boats to Butterfly Valley leave from. The water is the same sea, though you do not get the enclosed lagoon shape of Kumburnu.

A sensible plan for a mixed group is to use Belcekız on most days and pay for the lagoon once, on a quieter morning, if you want the view and the calm water. If you only have one day, the free beach plus a boat or a walk fills it perfectly well.

Babadağ Cable Car

The Babadağ cable car takes you up the mountain above Ölüdeniz for views over the lagoon and the coast. A return ticket was ₺890 from April 2026, with a lower student fare of ₺660. A further rise in July 2026 has been reported, so confirm the price at the ticket office before you count on the figure above.

Paragliding Over Ölüdeniz

Tandem paragliding over the lagoon, taking off from Babadağ, is the main reason many visitors come. There is no official price list: operators set their own prices, which vary with flight length and whether hotel pick-up and the park fee are included. Flights run for most of the year, weather permitting, but the summit lift is seasonal.

Book with a licensed operator, ask to see the licence, and compare what is included before you pay. Ask what happens to your booking if the wind cancels the flight. If the weather is poor on your first day, keep a spare day in the trip. Follow the pilot's instructions throughout.

Getting to Ölüdeniz From Dalaman Airport

Dalaman Airport (DLM) is about 66 to 68 km from Ölüdeniz, roughly 1 hour 5 to 10 minutes by car in light traffic. There is no direct coach: public transport means changing in Fethiye.

OptionTimeCost (2026)Good for
Our private transferAbout 1 h 5 min to 1 h 10 minFrom €53 per vehicleFamilies, groups, late arrivals, luggage
Airport taxi (list fare)About 1 h 5 min to 1 h 10 min≈€63 (₺3,500) per carArriving without a booking
Airport coach to Fethiye, then dolmuş 3-40About 1 h 30 min or more≈€5.50 (₺300) + ≈€2 (₺115) per personSolo travellers on a budget

Taxi list fares are the airport cooperative's board prices for Hisarönü and Ölüdeniz. The coaches meet domestic flights and have no fixed timetable, so after an international flight you may wait. Our Dalaman guide has the detail.

Our transfer is private only, in a Mercedes Vito (up to 6 passengers), a V-Class VIP or a Sprinter for larger groups, with child seats on request. The price is per vehicle and shown before you pay. Our driver waits just outside the arrivals exit and, after you land, sends the exact meeting point and a short video on WhatsApp. Our drivers speak English, and there is no extra charge for traffic or flight delays. You can book on our Dalaman Airport Transfer page and compare routes on transfer prices.

If you want to be dropped at a particular place, such as the lagoon gate or the cable car station, ask us on WhatsApp before booking. The same applies to a stop on the way.

From Fethiye to Ölüdeniz by Dolmuş

If you take the coach, you finish at Fethiye bus station and change to dolmuş 3-40, run by the Muğla municipal transport company (MUTTAŞ). It runs from Fethiye via Ovacık and Hisarönü to Ölüdeniz, about 13 km and 20 to 25 minutes.

The minibuses fill up in summer and have little room for large suitcases, which is the main reason families with bags choose a private transfer for the airport leg and use the dolmuş for day trips.

Walking From Kayaköy to Ölüdeniz

A popular half-day outing is to ride out to Kayaköy, the ruined village in the hills, and walk down to the coast. The route is about 5 to 6 km and takes 2 to 3 hours, with roughly 200 m of climbing and 350 m of descent, and you see the lagoon on the way down. Trail guides describe it as a waymarked path. It is not an official stage of the Lycian Way, which starts at Ölüdeniz and Ovacık.

Butterfly Valley: Go by Boat

Butterfly Valley is a steep cove reached by boat from Belcekız in about 30 minutes. As of September 2026 the return ticket was ₺500, sold at the booth on the beach. In peak season boats run from about 10:00 until a last return around 18:00. From November to March they run only on demand and in good sea.

The cliff path from Faralya is dangerous. Press reports from October 2026 describe gendarmerie signs warning of fall danger and closing the route beyond a certain point, so take the boat only. A small landing fee may be collected on arrival, so bring cash. The butterflies, Jersey tiger moths, are mainly seen from June to September, with the peak in July and August, so a visit in other months is for the cove, not the insects. Day-tour boats stop for only 40 to 60 minutes, so ask how long you will have ashore.

Planning Your Day

Back to Dalaman Airport

Allow about 1 hour 10 minutes for the road, plus the airport's advice to check in 2 hours before a domestic flight and 3 hours before an international one. The last dolmuş from Ölüdeniz leaves at 00:35, but that only takes you to Fethiye, and the airport coaches run to times that change from day to day. A private transfer from your hotel avoids both problems. Book the return together with your arrival on our Dalaman Airport Transfer page.
