Antalya Airport to the Lycian Coast: Olympos, Çıralı, Kaş and Kalkan
The Lycian coast south-west of Antalya is the wilder, quieter side of the Turkish Riviera: the pine-covered valleys of Olympos and Çıralı, the sheltered bay of Adrasan and, further along, the harbour towns of Kaş and Kalkan. It's also where the distances from Antalya Airport (AYT) really add up. Olympos and Çıralı are about 90–100 km away, Kaş about 190 km and Kalkan a little further, mostly on a winding coastal road.
Short answer: by private transfer or taxi, allow about 1 hour 30 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes to Olympos, Çıralı or Adrasan, and about 3 to 3 hours 30 minutes to Kaş, a little longer to Kalkan. By public transport, take the tram or bus 600 to Antalya's bus station and an intercity coach along the coast; Olympos and Çıralı are reached from a turn-off on the main road. For Kalkan in particular, compare flights to Dalaman Airport (DLM), which is closer.

*Most of the route follows the D400 coastal road, which is scenic but winding, especially beyond Kumluca. Allow extra time in peak summer.
Olympos, Çıralı and Adrasan
These three places lie in quiet valleys and bays below the main coastal road, about 90–110 km from the airport. The road runs past Kemer and Tekirova, then climbs into the mountains before turning off towards the sea. Olympos is known for its ancient ruins among the trees, Çıralı for its long pebble beach and the eternal flames of the Chimaera, and Adrasan for its sheltered bay.
From the turn-off on the main road, the final stretch down to the villages is several kilometres long. Intercity coaches don't go down there; in season, minibuses run from the junction, but with luggage, with children or after dark, a car that takes you to the door makes a big difference.
Kaş and Kalkan
Kaş, about 190 km from the airport, is a lively harbour town popular with divers and sailors. Kalkan, around 25 km further west, is known for its villas and rooftop restaurants on a steep hillside above the sea. The drive passes Kumluca, Finike and Demre, with long stretches right along the water. It's one of the most beautiful drives in Turkey, but after a flight it's a long one.
In Kalkan especially, many villas and hotels sit on steep, narrow streets above the town. A driver who knows the area gets you much closer than a coach stop in the centre.
Option 1: private transfer
Your driver tracks your flight, waits with a name sign in arrivals and drives you straight to your hotel or villa at a fixed price per vehicle agreed in advance. On a three-hour mountain road, a comfortable vehicle, a driver who knows the route and a short break if you need one make the journey far easier than connecting coaches. Option 2: taxi
Taxis wait outside arrivals around the clock, but over these distances the metered fare is among the highest you can pay from the airport. Insist on the meter, turn down fixed prices offered inside the terminal and keep some cash handy, as not every driver accepts cards.
Option 3: coach via Antalya's bus station
- Buy an Antalyakart at the machines by the airport tram stop.
- Take the AntRay tram or bus 600 to Antalya's main bus station (Otogar).
- Take an intercity coach along the coast towards Kaş. For Olympos and Çıralı, ask to be dropped at the turn-off and continue by minibus or taxi.
- For Kalkan, take a coach that continues beyond Kaş, or change in Kaş.
Including connections, allow about 4–5 hours to Kaş. There are fewer departures in the evening, so this route only really works for daytime arrivals with light luggage.
Dalaman Airport: worth comparing
If you haven't booked your flights yet, check Dalaman Airport (DLM) as well. It's closer to Kalkan and Fethiye and somewhat closer to Kaş, so for those places it can save a good part of the drive. For Olympos, Çıralı and Adrasan, Antalya is clearly the closer airport.
