Antalya Airport to the City Centre, Kaleiçi and Lara
Antalya Airport (AYT) is only about 12–14 km from the city centre, which makes it one of the most conveniently placed big airports in Turkey. It's also the one Antalya route with genuinely useful public transport: the AntRay tram runs from the airport into town. Where you're staying still matters a lot, though. Kaleiçi, the old town, is closed to most traffic, Lara's beach hotels stretch along the coast east of the airport, and Konyaaltı is on the far side of the city.
Short answer: the cheapest way is the AntRay tram, about 30–45 minutes to the centre; for Kaleiçi, get off at İsmetpaşa. You pay with an Antalyakart, sold at machines by the airport tram stop. A taxi or private transfer takes about 20–30 minutes to the centre and 15–25 minutes to most Lara hotels, and is the easy choice with luggage, late at night or for Konyaaltı.

*Road times assume normal traffic. In peak summer, arrival halls and the roads around the airport get very busy when many charter flights land together.
Option 1: the AntRay tram
The Havalimanı (Airport) tram stop is a short walk from the terminals and signposted from arrivals. Trams run into the city roughly every 15 minutes during the day, from early morning until late evening. For Kaleiçi and most central hotels, ride to İsmetpaşa, about 30–45 minutes from the airport; from there it's a short walk to the old town gates.
You can't pay cash on board. Buy an Antalyakart from the machines at the stop and load some credit; it also works on city buses for the rest of your stay. The tram is fast and cheap, but it can be crowded in summer and isn't ideal with several large suitcases.
Option 2: bus 600 and Havaş
City bus 600 runs from outside the terminals to the bus station and central areas in about an hour. Like the tram, it takes Antalyakart only. Havaş airport coaches also run into the city, with departures that generally follow flight arrivals. Check havas.net for current routes and times before you travel.
Option 3: taxi
Taxis wait outside arrivals around the clock. Insist on the meter and turn down fixed prices offered inside the terminal. Have your hotel's exact address ready, and keep some cash handy, as not every driver accepts cards.
Option 4: private transfer
Your driver tracks your flight, waits with a name sign in arrivals and drives you straight to your hotel at a fixed price per vehicle agreed in advance. In summer, when several charter flights can land at once and taxi queues build up, that makes a real difference, especially with children or lots of luggage. Where exactly are you staying?
- Kaleiçi (old town): a maze of narrow, pedestrianised lanes that cars can't enter, so taxis and transfers drop you at one of the gates, often near Hadrian's Gate. Small hotels usually tell you the nearest drop-off point.
- City centre: easy by tram; İsmetpaşa and the stops around it cover most central hotels.
- Lara and Kundu: the big beach resorts east of the city, close to the airport but away from the tram line; a car is the practical option.
- Konyaaltı: the long beach west of the centre, about 30–40 minutes from the airport by car; by public transport you'd need to change in the centre.
