Pickup at Süzer Plaza
Tell us your flight time when you book and we'll suggest a pickup time with enough margin for traffic and for check-in and security at Istanbul Airport. On the day, your driver waits at the hotel entrance at Süzer Plaza, or the nearest point the car can reach on the one-way streets around it, helps with your luggage and drives you to the airport. You're dropped at the departures level, close to your airline's check-in area.
A Mercedes Vito suits up to six people; a Mercedes Sprinter takes up to 15, with room for everyone's bags. For a VIP transfer, the black VIP Vito and VIP Sprinter have custom-designed interiors.
Why the walk to Taksim is harder on the way out
Arriving, the walk from Taksim is an easy one downhill. Leaving, it is the reverse: the north entrance of Taksim's M2 station is about 550 m away and some 45–50 m higher than the hotel, and the Havaist stop on the north side of the square is about 700 m away. That is manageable with a cabin bag, much less so with two large suitcases.
Time of day matters too. The M11 doesn't run overnight, so for an early flight a car from the door is the practical choice. Beşiktaş's stadium is about 250 m from Süzer Plaza, so if you fly out on a home-match day, leave a little earlier.
Taxi, metro and Havaist details
A metered yellow taxi to Istanbul Airport costs about ₺2,100–2,600 (₺71.94 to start, ₺47.92 per km, no night rate), plus any tolls and slow-traffic time. Card terminals linked to the meter won't be required until 16 November 2026, so carry cash until then.
- Metro: walk up to Taksim, take the M2 towards Hacıosman for three stops to Gayrettepe, and change to the M11, which reaches the airport in about 30 minutes.
- Havaist: board HVL-9 at its Taksim stop on the north side of the square. The fare is ₺470 with an Istanbulkart, the Havaist app or an online ticket, or ₺590 with a contactless bank card. Our Havaist guide has the timetable.

The drive takes about 40 minutes without traffic. Most airlines ask you to be at the airport about 3 hours before an international flight and 2 hours before a domestic one, so from Ritz-Carlton Istanbul plan a pickup about 4–4¼ hours before an international flight and 3–3¼ hours before a domestic flight. Always follow your own airline’s advice.

- Drop-off: the departures level (upper floor) of the terminal, at the entrance nearest your airline’s check-in area.
- Traffic: Istanbul traffic is heaviest on weekday mornings (about 07:00–10:00) and evenings (about 17:00–20:00), and on the bridges between the Asian and European sides; leave earlier at those times.
- At the airport: At Istanbul Airport there is a security check at the terminal entrance, before check-in, and the walk to the furthest gates can be long.
