Ankara Esenboğa Airport Bus: AnkaraAir, Havaş and EGO 442 Stops, Timetables and Fares

Updated 3 October 2026

Short answer: three bus lines link Esenboğa Airport (ESB) with Ankara, all leaving from the arrivals level just outside the exits. AnkaraAir, formerly BelkoAir, runs 24/7 via the old railway station and Kızılay to the AŞTİ bus station for ≈€4.50 (₺250), in about an hour. Havaş (≈€4.50 / ₺250) goes only to AŞTİ, in about 45 minutes, with a coach for every arriving flight. EGO bus 442 (≈€2.50 / ₺150) is the cheapest and the only one to Ulus, but runs only every two hours at night, and its Başkent Kart isn't sold at the airport, so have a contactless bank card ready.

There is no train or metro to Esenboğa in 2026: metro contracts were signed in August 2026, but no opening date has been announced. So buses are the only public transport to Kızılay, about 30 km away. Below: every stop, timetables both ways, where to board, how to pay and night service. For taxis and transfers compared with the buses, see Ankara Airport to the city centre.

Where to catch the bus at Esenboğa

Esenboğa has one terminal building with an international section (Dış Hatlar) and a domestic one (İç Hatlar), each with its own arrivals exit. Coaches and taxis wait just outside, at numbered columns:

Arrivals exitAnkaraAirHavaşTaxis
International (Dış Hatlar)Columns 20–21Columns 22–23Columns 24–25
Domestic (İç Hatlar)Columns 1–2Columns 3–5Columns 7–9

Havaş coaches stand to the right as you come out of the arrivals doors. Bus 442 also leaves from the arrivals level; EGO's stop list starts on the domestic side ("Esenboğa Havalimanı İç Hatlar"), and no column number is published.

AnkaraAir (formerly BelkoAir): every stop, times and tickets

AnkaraAir is the former BelkoAir under a new name, and the only airport coach through the city centre. Its stops from the airport:

  1. Esenboğa Airport: columns 20–21 (international) or 1–2 (domestic).
  2. Pursaklar: in front of the Hatton Suites Hotel.
  3. Aydınlıkevler.
  4. AKM: Kazım Karabekir Caddesi, by Gate B of the old 19 Mayıs Stadium; the nearest coach stop to Ulus.
  5. Eski Tren Garı: by Gate F of the Ankara Spor Salonu, opposite the old railway station.
  6. Kızılay: outside the Gama İş Merkezi, opposite Güvenpark.
  7. AŞTİ: on the arrivals level (Gelen Yolcu Katı) of the bus station.

From the airport, coaches run 24/7 with no timetable, leaving according to demand, with staff at the platform round the clock; the trip averages about an hour. To the airport there are 48 departures a day: from Kızılay at 01:00, 03:00, 04:00 and 05:05, then every 15–25 minutes until 22:10, with later departures planned around flights. Times from the other stops are on ankaraair.com.

Tickets cost ≈€4.50 (₺250) one way at any hour. Buy online by credit or debit card (3D Secure) or bank transfer, or pay the staff at the airport stop, who charge the online fare; AnkaraAir's ticket desks also take cash. The open ticket carries a QR code, is scanned when you board and is valid for 72 hours.

Havaş: the direct coach to AŞTİ

Havaş runs from Esenboğa to AŞTİ only, stopping at Pursaklar and the Ankamall shopping centre and arriving at AŞTİ platforms 129–130; it doesn't stop in Kızılay or Ulus. It costs ≈€4.50 (₺250) per person and takes about 45 minutes, traffic permitting.

EGO bus 442: stops, timetable and how to pay

Line 442 (AŞTİ – Kızılay – Havalimanı) is the only city bus to the airport: Ankara's transport authority EGO runs it as a 75 km loop that takes 110 minutes from AŞTİ round to AŞTİ. At ≈€2.50 (₺150) it's the cheapest way in and the only public transport to Ulus.

Stops from the airport: Esenboğa Havalimanı İç Hatlar → Havaalanı Yolu → Otonomi → Saray → Pursaklar Aile Yaşam Merkezi → Kuzey Ankara → Akşemsettin (Hasköy) → Atatürk AİHL (Aydınlıkevler) → Dışkapı Hastane → İlk Meclis (Ulus Square) → Ankara Tren Garı (Talatpaşa Boulevard) → Güvenpark (Kızılay) → AŞTİ.

Stops to the airport: AŞTİ → Güvenpark → Ankara Spor Salonu (opposite the old station) → AKM → Dışkapı → … → airport.

The timetable is the same every day, holidays included. Between midnight and 06:00 the bus runs only every two hours: land at 00:30 and the next 442 leaves at 02:00.

Paying: 442 takes the Başkent Kart, Ankara's transport card (formerly AnkaraKart), but none of EGO's official card dealers is at the airport; the nearest are about 7 km away in Pursaklar or Akyurt. The airport operator says cash and credit cards are accepted on 442 buses, while some recent reports say cash isn't, so have a contactless bank card ready. EGO doesn't say whether paying by bank card costs extra on this line, as it does on other routes. Onward metro and Ankaray rides from Kızılay, AŞTİ or the station cost ≈€0.70 (₺40) with a Başkent Kart, a little more by contactless bank card.

Which bus for your destination?

Landing late at night

AnkaraAir runs all night and Havaş meets every arriving flight, though only to AŞTİ. Between midnight and 06:20, bus 442 leaves the airport only at 00:01, 02:00 and 04:00, so you could wait up to two hours. Whichever bus you take, plan the last stretch from the stop to your hotel. If you'd rather not wait, taxis stand outside both arrivals exits all night.

With luggage, children or a group: taxi or private transfer

The coaches leave you at a stop, not at your door, and bus 442 is an ordinary city bus shared with commuters. Fares are per person, so a family of four pays four fares and may still need a taxi at the end.

Taxi: metered at ≈€1.15 (₺65) to start plus ≈€0.70 (₺40) per km, which puts Kızılay at about €21–25 (₺1,150–1,400) in normal traffic. Keep some cash handy, as not every driver takes cards. See Ankara Airport taxi prices.

Private transfer: a fixed price per vehicle for up to 6 passengers in a Mercedes Vito, from €33 to Ulus, Kızılay or Çankaya; the exact price for your date and pickup time is shown before you pay. Your driver tracks your flight and meets you just outside the arrivals exit; once you land, they contact you on WhatsApp with the exact meeting point and a short video showing the way. See our routes to Kızılay, Ulus, Çankaya, Bilkent and Çayyolu, or every destination on our Ankara Airport Transfer page.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a bus from Ankara Airport to Kızılay?

Yes, two. The AnkaraAir coach runs 24 hours a day to Kızılay, stopping outside the Gama business centre opposite Güvenpark, in about an hour for ≈€4.50 (₺250). EGO bus 442 stops at Güvenpark itself for ≈€2.50 (₺150), every 25 minutes in the daytime. Havaş doesn't stop in Kızılay: it goes only to AŞTİ.

How much is the airport bus in Ankara?

AnkaraAir costs ≈€4.50 (₺250) and Havaş ≈€4.50 (₺250) per person, one way (October 2026). City bus 442 costs ≈€2.50 (₺150), but its Başkent Kart isn't sold at the airport. The AnkaraAir fare doesn't change with the time of day or with demand.

Does the Ankara airport bus run at night?

AnkaraAir runs 24/7, leaving according to demand, and Havaş runs a coach to AŞTİ for every arriving flight. Bus 442 leaves the airport only at 00:01, 02:00 and 04:00 between midnight and 06:20. Towards the airport, AnkaraAir leaves Kızılay at 01:00, 03:00, 04:00 and 05:05, Havaş leaves AŞTİ at 01:00, 02:00, 03:00, 04:00 and 04:30, and bus 442 leaves AŞTİ at 01:00, 03:00 and 05:00.

Can I pay cash or by card on the Ankara airport bus?

On AnkaraAir, pay the staff at the airport stop or buy online by card or bank transfer; its ticket desks also take cash. Havaş's rules allow bank cards and travellers report paying cash or card when boarding, so carry both. Bus 442 takes the Başkent Kart, which isn't sold at the airport; the airport operator says cash and cards are accepted on board, but some reports say cash isn't, so have a contactless bank card ready.

Which bus goes to Ankara train station?

Not Havaş: its service to the YHT high-speed station was stopped by court order on 30 April 2024, although some websites still list it. Take AnkaraAir to Eski Tren Garı, opposite the old station, or bus 442 to Ankara Tren Garı on Talatpaşa Boulevard; the YHT station is a few minutes' walk away, next to the old station. With a train to catch, leave plenty of time.

Is BelkoAir the same as AnkaraAir?

Yes. The airport coach once called BelkoAir now runs as AnkaraAir (ankaraair.com), via Pursaklar, Aydınlıkevler, AKM, Eski Tren Garı and Kızılay to AŞTİ. If an older guide mentions BelkoAir, look for AnkaraAir at columns 20–21 outside international arrivals or 1–2 outside domestic arrivals.

Rather go straight to your door?

Your driver tracks your flight and meets you just outside the Esenboğa arrivals exit; once you land, they contact you on WhatsApp with the exact meeting point. Fixed price per vehicle for up to 6 passengers: from €33 to Ulus, Kızılay or Çankaya, with the exact price for your date and pickup time shown before you pay.
