Side to Antalya Airport: Pickup Time, Old Town and Costs
Short answer: From Side the drive to Antalya Airport takes about 60–75 minutes along the D400 coastal highway. Our private car costs from €45 per vehicle (Mercedes Vito, up to 6 passengers), not per person. For an international flight, plan a pickup about 4½–5 hours before departure, earlier on summer weekends, and add the walk to the car if you stay in the car-free old town.

Side sits on a small peninsula about 65–75 km east of Antalya Airport, with beach resorts stretching away on both sides. On the morning you fly home, the first question is not the road but where the car can reach you: a pension among the ruins of the old town and a resort in Çolaklı start the day very differently.
Old Town or Resort Strip: Where the Car Collects You
Cars are not allowed in Side's old town, so for a pension on the ancient peninsula the driver cannot reach your door. You meet at the nearest point a vehicle can reach and walk the last stretch with your bags.
- Old town pensions: ask your pension which side of the peninsula is closest and put that location in the booking notes, or send it on WhatsApp. The driver then tells you exactly where to meet. Allow ten minutes for the walk: cobbled lanes are hard on wheeled cases, and the distance is longer than it looks on a map.
- A last look at the ruins: the Temple of Apollo, the harbour and the Roman theatre are all inside the car-free area, a few minutes from its edge. Visit them the evening before, or set a firm time to be back.
- Kumköy, Kızılot, Çolaklı and Titreyengöl: the car comes to the main entrance. On changeover days the lobbies fill with departing guests, so have your bags ready beside reception.
- Manavgat: give us the street or hotel name. The drive is a little longer but follows the same coastal highway.
Wherever you stay, the driver contacts you on WhatsApp on arrival, so be in the lobby or at the meeting point a few minutes early with your luggage (see hotel pickup). Kızılot and Okurcalar, further east, have their own route pages: Kızılot and Okurcalar.
Pickup Times Worked Back From Your Flight
Airlines usually recommend being at the airport 2–3 hours before an international flight. From Side we suggest 3 hours at the airport, the drive of an hour or a little more and about 30 minutes' margin: a pickup about 4½–5 hours before an international departure and 3½–4 hours before a domestic one. Old town guests should count the walk to the car on top.
| Your international flight | Pickup in Side, roughly |
|---|---|
| 07:00 | 02:00–02:30 |
| 13:30 | 08:30–09:00 |
| 22:00 | 17:00–17:30 |
Take the earlier time on Saturdays and Sundays. If you are unsure, send us your flight time on WhatsApp and we suggest a pickup time.
Before Dawn, Only a Car Works
Public transport from Side does not fit an early flight. You first need a local minibus to Manavgat; bus MAN47 then runs from Manavgat to Antalya's bus station between 06:00 and 21:40, and the first connections reach the airport at about 09:00. For a morning flight, ask your hotel to order a taxi the evening before, or pre-book our car for the time you need.
The D400 West: Side Junction, Serik and the Airport Approach
The road is mostly dual carriageway: out to the Side junction, then west on the D400 past Serik to the airport. Time is lost at three points:
- The Side junction, which jams when many hotels send transfers at once, especially on summer changeover days.
- Slow traffic near Serik.
- The airport approach and the check-in counters, which fill up together on Saturdays and Sundays, when many hotel guests change over.
In 2026 almost all international flights leave from Terminal 2 and domestic flights from the Domestic terminal, but the terminal is set per flight. Give it to the driver at pickup and you are dropped at the departures level of the right building.
Taxi, MAN47 or a Private Car: Costs From Side
Taxis licensed in Manavgat district, which includes Side, use Antalya's resort tariff: ≈€1.10 (₺60) to start and ≈€1.25 (₺70) per km, with no night rate. That makes the taxi back to the airport dearer than the airport taxi out, which runs on the central tariff and comes to ≈€59–61 (₺3,300–3,400). Our price is the same in both directions.
| Option | Time to the airport | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Our private transfer | 60–75 min, no changes | from €45 per vehicle |
| Resort taxi on the meter (~66 km) | 60–75 min | ≈€84 (₺4,680) per car |
| Minibus to Manavgat, bus MAN47, then the tram | 3 hours or more | MAN47 fare not published, plus ≈€0.75 (₺42) for the tram with an Antalyakart |
Taxi figures are meter estimates for the whole car in free-flowing traffic; practice varies, so ask your hotel for an estimate first. Our price is per vehicle, and the exact price for your date and pickup time is shown before you pay.
- When the bus is enough: one or two people with light bags, a flight in the afternoon or evening and time to spare. MAN47 takes about 1 hour 50 minutes to the bus station, where the district platform is about 400 m from the tram stop; the tram then takes 50 minutes and stops beside Terminal 1 and the Domestic terminal, so for Terminal 2 you change to the free ring shuttle.
- When a taxi makes sense: on price alone it does not win from Side. A standard taxi takes 4 passengers and usually 2–3 suitcases.
- When the car wins: families and groups, plenty of luggage, any early flight, or an old town pension where someone needs to agree the meeting point. A Mercedes Vito takes 6 passengers and 7 suitcases; a Sprinter takes 15 and 20.
From 16 November 2026, taxis in Turkey must accept bank cards through a device linked to the meter; until then, ask first and carry lira. See Antalya Airport taxi prices and the bus and tram guide.
