Marmaris to Dalaman Airport: The Long Road to Your Flight

Marmaris is the longest of the main resort runs to Dalaman, and that distance shapes the whole departure day. The road leaves the bay, climbs to the Gökova junction and follows the D400 past Köyceğiz and Ortaca to the terminal. Bodrum Airport is no shortcut either: our Bodrum guide puts Marmaris at roughly two hours or more from there, so Marmaris visitors fly in and out of Dalaman.

Why a Five-to-Six-Hour Window From Marmaris

An international flight needs about 3 hours at the airport (2 hours for a domestic one). Add the 1 hour 35 minute drive and a margin on top of it for summer traffic and queues, and the pickup falls 5–6 hours before an international departure.

From İçmeler take the earlier time in each window. Turunç is a longer drive again, so send us your flight time on WhatsApp and we suggest a pickup time; we do the same for any address on the bay.

Before Dawn: the 03:15 Coach and the Dolmuş Gap

The airport coach (line 48-26) leaves Marmaris bus station at fixed times that change from day to day, on some days as early as 03:15. The local dolmuş does not run that early: line 10-1A from İçmeler runs every 30 minutes from 07:00 to 23:59, and line 10-15 from Turunç starts at 07:30 and stops in the evening. For a morning flight from İçmeler or Turunç, public transport cannot get you to the first coach, so the choice is a taxi your hotel orders in advance or a car booked for a set time.

Marmaris, İçmeler or Turunç: Distance and Price

Dalaman transfers are priced by distance, so each from-price is to the centre of that place; the price for your exact address is shown when you search.

Coach 48-26, a Taxi or Our Car

The airport taxi list, which covers trips from the airport only, shows ≈€90 (₺5,000) per car to Marmaris, ≈€94 (₺5,200) to İçmeler and ≈€110 (₺6,000) to Turunç. On runs this long the list fare and our price are of the same order. Ask your hotel to agree the fare when it orders the car, and carry lira in case the driver cannot take a card. There is no night rate.

• When the coach is enough: one or two people with light bags, staying in Marmaris itself, on a flight in the daytime. The coach also picks up at the Gökova junction about 15 minutes after leaving Marmaris, and MUTTAŞ takes bank cards on board.
• When a taxi is fine: a couple or a small family with ordinary luggage who are happy to agree a fare through the hotel.
• When the car wins: five or six people, who would need two taxis; children who need seats; an early flight from İçmeler or Turunç; or anyone who wants the cost settled before a long drive. A Mercedes Vito takes 6 passengers and 7 suitcases; groups of up to 15 fit a Sprinter.

Pickup Around the Bay: Seafront Hotels, the Old Quarter and Villas

Our driver comes to the hotel entrance at the booked time and messages you on WhatsApp on arrival. Wait in the lobby a few minutes early with your luggage. The driver loads the bags and drops you at the departures level of Terminal 2, which all flights at Dalaman now use.

• The seafront strip: between Marmaris and İçmeler the hotels follow the shore road. Copy the exact hotel name and street from your voucher so the driver comes to the right entrance.
• Kaleiçi and the bazaar: the old quarter at the foot of the castle and the covered bazaar are narrow lanes. If you stay there, or anywhere a car cannot reach, say so in the booking notes and the driver tells you where to meet nearby.
• Turunç and the villas: send the address or a map pin when you book, so the driver can plan the last stretch, often in the dark for a morning flight.

The Road: Gökova Junction, Köyceğiz and Ortaca

The route is the one the airport coach follows: out of Marmaris to the Gökova junction, east along the D400 past Köyceğiz, then through Ortaca to the airport. The coach timetable gives a feel for it: the Gökova junction about 15 minutes out, Köyceğiz after about 45 and Ortaca after about 60, and the airport is about 20 minutes beyond Ortaca.

What slows the trip is the season. Dalaman is very busy from roughly April to October, when charter flights leave in waves and check-in, security and the road all fill up at once; allow more in July and August.

Booking, Paying and Changes

Search from your address with the date, pickup time, passengers and bags; each vehicle that fits is shown with its price for the whole vehicle, and there is no extra charge for traffic or flight delays. The trip to the airport costs the same as the trip from it. Child seats are five euros per seat (child seats). Before you confirm, the payment page shows each option with its exact amount: card online on iyzico's secure page with 3D Secure, cash to the driver in euro, US dollar, pound sterling or lira, or a booking guarantee by card with the rest in cash (how to pay).

Cancelling is free up to 24 hours before pickup; between 6 and 24 hours before, up to 50% of the one-way price is charged, and under 6 hours the full price may be charged. You can change the date and time until 24 hours before pickup (cancel or change). Booking the arrival and the departure together gives a discount on the return part.
