Shangri-La Bosphorus, Istanbul stands on the Beşiktaş waterfront, between Dolmabahçe Palace and the Naval Museum, about 43 km by road from Istanbul Airport (IST). With a clear road the drive takes around 45 minutes; in normal to heavy traffic, allow 55 to 90. The whole route stays on the European side, so you never cross the Bosphorus.

Where the car drops you at Shangri-La
The hotel's address is Hayrettin İskelesi Sokağı 1, a private, one-way lane set back from the main road. Cars turn in from Beşiktaş Caddesi by way of Çiğdem Sokağı, close to the ferry piers, pass along the front of the building and leave towards Akaretler and Dolmabahçe. So your driver can bring you to the door rather than stopping in traffic on the main road.
The building is older than the hotel. Shangri-La opened in May 2013 on the site of a 1930s tobacco warehouse, and the restored six-storey Neo-Classical façade was kept. Dolmabahçe Palace is about a 15-minute walk away, and the Beşiktaş ferry piers, with boats to Kadıköy and Üsküdar, are only about 320 m from the entrance.
How the private transfer works
Book online with your flight number and the hotel as your destination. We track the flight, so if you land early or late the pickup simply moves with it. Once you're on the ground, your driver sends a WhatsApp message with the exact meeting point and a short video showing the way. Airport rules in Türkiye don't let drivers wait inside the terminal, so you'll be met just outside the arrivals exit, where the driver takes your luggage to the car.
From the airport, the usual route follows the airport road and the O-2 ring road, then runs down Büyükdere Caddesi and Barbaros Bulvarı into Beşiktaş. Those two avenues carry heavy traffic at rush hour, which is why the journey time varies so much.
Vehicles and the VIP transfer
A Mercedes Vito carries up to six people; a Mercedes Sprinter takes up to 15, which suits groups and anyone with a lot of luggage. The VIP transfer uses a black VIP Vito or VIP Sprinter with a custom-designed interior. Child seats and booster seats are available on request.

Havaist and metro to Shangri-La Bosphorus
If you're travelling light, two public routes work well:
- Havaist HVL-9 (Taksim line): go down to floor -2 of the terminal and board at platform 16. The fare is ₺470 with an Istanbulkart, the Havaist app or an online ticket, or ₺590 with a contactless bank card; cash isn't accepted. Get off at Beşiktaş Meydan, a flat walk of about 550 m (7 minutes) from the hotel. Many trips run express and skip Beşiktaş, and on Beşiktaş home-match days every trip can, so check the stop list before you board. If yours goes straight to Taksim, take the F1 funicular down to Kabataş and walk about 1.5 km along flat Dolmabahçe Caddesi, or take a taxi. Don't board HVL-11, which goes to Sabiha Gökçen.
- M11 and M7: ride the M11 from the station beneath the terminal five stops to Kağıthane (about 25 minutes), change to the M7 and go four stops to Yıldız. From there it's about 1.6 km, or 20 minutes, downhill along Barbaros Bulvarı to the hotel; with a suitcase, a short taxi from the station is easier.
Neither metro line runs through the night; the M7 operates from 06:00 to midnight. HVL-9 keeps going, with departures from the airport at 00:30, 01:15, 02:15 and 04:30. Our Havaist guide and M11 metro guide have timetables and ticket details.
Taxi fares to Shangri-La Bosphorus
The yellow taxi meter starts at ₺71.94 and adds ₺47.92 per km, with no night rate. For this trip that comes to about ₺2,200 on the usual route and up to ₺2,700 if the driver chooses the longer, tolled Northern Marmara Motorway. Tolls and time spent in slow traffic are charged on top.

🔁 Going home: Shangri-La Bosphorus back to Istanbul Airport
You can book the way back in the same booking: choose a return trip on the booking form and enter the date and pickup time for your flight home. On the day, your driver waits at your hotel entrance or your address at that time and helps with your luggage.
From Shangri-La Bosphorus the drive back takes about 45 minutes without traffic, so for an international flight choose a pickup about 4–4½ hours before departure, and about 3–3½ hours before a domestic flight. For a flight at 18:00, that means a pickup between about 13:30 and 14:00.
Traffic: Istanbul traffic is heaviest on weekday mornings (about 07:00–10:00) and evenings (about 17:00–20:00), and on the bridges between the Asian and European sides; leave earlier at those times.
