Arriving at Gümrük Sokak: the last few metres
Cars may not be able to drive right up to the hotel. They may need to stop on Mumhane Caddesi, a few steps away, and your driver helps you with your bags from there. Be ready for a short walk with your luggage rather than a kerbside drop-off.

Havaist and public transport to Karaköy
Two budget routes suit this hotel, both with a flat finish:
- Havaist HVL-13 and the tram: on floor -2 of the terminal, board HVL-13 at platform 11 (₺470). The coach calls at Şişhane and then at Eminönü İskele, by the ferry piers; get off there and take the T1 tram one stop across the Galata Bridge to Karaköy, then walk about 270 m to the hotel. Without the tram, the walk over the bridge is about 1 km and flat. The first HVL-13 leaves the airport at 05:00 and the last at 23:45, 21 a day.
- M11 and M2 to Haliç: take the M11 to Gayrettepe (about 30 minutes), then the M2 towards Yenikapı five stops to Haliç. Leave by the Azapkapı end and walk about 940 m along Tersane and Necatibey Caddesi, all on the level. With an Istanbulkart that comes to about ₺94 per person.
A shorter walk is possible if you leave the M2 one stop earlier at Şişhane and ride the Tünel funicular down to Karaköy, which leaves about 310 m on foot. Don't walk down from Şişhane with suitcases: Karaköy is about 60 m lower, through steep, cobbled streets. Board the M11 by about 23:30 from Sunday to Thursday, as the last M2 from Gayrettepe towards Yenikapı leaves at 00:12. After that, HVL-9 to Taksim (platform 16) still runs at 00:30, 01:15, 02:15 and 04:30, with a taxi needed from Taksim. Don't board HVL-11, which goes to Sabiha Gökçen. Taxi or private transfer?
On the meter, a yellow taxi costs ₺71.94 plus ₺47.92 for every kilometre (minimum ₺230, and no night rate). Expect about ₺2,100 to Karaköy, rising towards ₺2,400 on the longer, tolled Northern Marmara Motorway, plus any tolls and time in slow traffic. Before it became a hotel, the building was the first headquarters of Denizbank. Its restaurant, The Hezar, overlooks the Bosphorus, and the hotel also mentions views over the Historic Peninsula. From the door, the T1 Karaköy tram stop is about 270 m away, the Karaköy ferry pier about 390 m and the Galataport cruise terminal entrance about 1.1 km on foot.
