The drive leaves the beach road, joins the Menderes–Gümüldür provincial road and heads north-east to Gaziemir. Allow 35 to 50 minutes, a little more on Saturday and Sunday afternoons in summer when day visitors return from the beach. This is far shorter than the journeys from Özdere or from the Çeşme peninsula, so a late-morning breakfast and a swim before leaving is realistic.
How much margin do you need?
A pickup about three and a half hours before an international flight leaves time for traffic, check-in and passport control. For domestic flights an hour less is fine. Early flights can be collected in the small hours without trouble, because the road is empty then.
Summer-house estates and beach hotels
Gümüldür has many summer-house estates with gates, caretakers and internal roads. Tell the driver which gate to come to, and send a location pin on WhatsApp the evening before. Hotels along the beach road are easier: the driver comes to the entrance, but the beachfront streets are busy in July and August and may need a minute of patience.

Some houses sit inland among the satsuma orchards, down narrow tracks. If a track is rough or short of turning room, the driver may wait on the nearest proper road. Say so when you book, and keep your bags by the gate.
Public transport out of Gümüldür
ESHOT 776 runs from Doğanbey through Gümüldür and Ürkmez to the Cumaovası transfer centre, from where İZBAN covers one stop to the airport station. It is an inexpensive way for a lone traveller in the daytime. The first İZBAN service is around 05:20, so early flights need a car, and ESHOT's direct airport buses run only at night.

Last morning in Gümüldür
Because the drive is short, a morning flight leaves you time for a coffee on the seafront.
