The shortest airport run in İzmir
The drive between central Gaziemir and ADB takes about ten to fifteen minutes, and in the rush hours up to twenty or so. From Fuar İzmir, count on 15 to 25 minutes by Akçay Caddesi and the ring road, with more at the closing hour of a major fair when thousands of visitors leave together. That means you can enjoy a last breakfast and still make a morning check-in, but do not assume the short distance cancels the need for a margin.
Pickup spots around the district
Hotels along Akçay Caddesi and Ege Caddesi are the most common starting points, with wide roads and easy access. Fair visitors are often at Fuar İzmir in the Zafer neighbourhood; it has its own car parks and set-down areas, so agree on the exact gate or hall exit with the driver. Business travellers leaving the Aegean Free Zone should tell us the company name and gate, since the zone has controlled entrances and may need a visitor pass for a vehicle.
After an exhibition day
If your flight leaves in the evening of the final fair day, book the pickup from the hall rather than from your hotel, and allow time to collect luggage from the stand. A van parked near the loading area is simpler than a taxi hunt among crowds.
Why a car, when the airport is so near?
Because the practical alternatives have limits. The İZBAN line runs from Gaziemir station through Sarnıç to the airport station, and Havaş's city line calls at Gaziemir Tansaş, but those stops may not be at your door, and the trains do not leave on your schedule. With a suitcase, a roll-up display or a group, the platform, the walk and the waiting can take longer than the ride itself. A pre-booked car turns up where you are at the hour you set.
Which building at ADB?
Ask your airline: the international and domestic terminals are two separate buildings. The driver drops you at the departures entrance of the one you name. Time of day matters less here
Because the distance is so short, you will rarely meet the long jams that affect the other districts on our list. Even so, on days when a large fair opens or closes, the approach roads to Fuar İzmir fill up, so we recommend an earlier pickup on those dates. Evening and early-morning flights are the easiest, with a quiet road and a quick drop at the departures door. If you are weighing a short taxi against a booked car, remember that the booked car arrives when you say, not when one happens to pass.

The drive takes about 5 minutes without traffic.
