City taxi fares are 2026 meter estimates, coastal fares the airport taxi office's list prices; the Çeşme and İzmir–Aydın motorways are toll roads, so ask whether tolls are included. Timetables change. Transfer prices are per vehicle (Mercedes Vito, up to 6 passengers), and the exact price for your date and pickup time is shown before you pay. Details in the full guide.

Arriving at Izmir Airport: good to know
- Two terminals, International and Domestic: taxis, Havaş and ESHOT buses leave from outside both arrivals exits, and both are linked to the İZBAN station (in International Arrivals, follow the “Metro–İZBAN” signs).
- Get an İzmirim Kart: İZBAN doesn't take bank cards. Buy one at the İZBAN ticket office or the cafés in both arrivals halls, load more than one fare, and tap the orange refund validator when you leave, or you pay for the whole line.
- Havaş: times follow flights and can change, so check havas.net, and keep your passport handy on intercity routes. The city bus to Alsancak and Karşıyaka runs only five times a day.
- After the last train (00:54), ESHOT night buses run at 01:00, 03:00 and 05:00 to Alsancak, with similar lines to Karşıyaka, the Otogar and Buca: ≈€1.40 (₺77) with an İzmirim Kart, ≈€1.55 (₺86) by contactless bank card.
- Taxis wait outside arrivals at both terminals around the clock. The meter must run on every trip, and you may pay either the meter amount or the airport's list price.
- Private transfer: your driver tracks your flight and meets you just outside the arrivals exit; once you land, the driver contacts you on WhatsApp with the exact meeting point and a short video.
Which option suits you?
Solo or with light luggage: İZBAN is ideal for Alsancak and Karşıyaka, and fine with one or two cases. For the coast, Havaş is good value and carries luggage in the hold, if one of its departures fits your flight.
Families, groups and heavy luggage: bus fares are per person, a transfer is per vehicle: one Mercedes Vito takes up to 6 passengers with luggage, from €51 to Selçuk and Ephesus or from €69 to Alaçatı, door to door.
Late arrivals: after the last train, take an ESHOT night bus or the 01:30 or 02:30 Havaş into the city. For the coast, Havaş also leaves at 22:30 and 02:30 for Çeşme and at 23:30 and 02:00 for Kuşadası; otherwise take a taxi or pre-book a transfer with a driver who tracks your flight.
