Çeşme sits at the far end of the peninsula, so the drive from İzmir Airport is a proper journey rather than a quick hop. Your driver meets you just outside the arrivals exit, tracks your flight, and takes the toll motorway west past Urla and Alaçatı, with no queue for a taxi and a calm start to the holiday.
✅ What's Included
The motorway west to the Aegean tip
From ADB the driver joins Akçay Caddesi and the İzmir Ring Road (O-30), then takes the O-32 İzmir–Çeşme Motorway, which is a toll road. It carries you the whole way past Urla and Alaçatı to the town. Count on roughly an hour and ten to an hour and a half under normal conditions. Summer Friday and Sunday evenings and public holidays are the exception, when the motorway fills with İzmir families heading to and from the coast and the journey takes noticeably longer.
A journey of this length deserves a plan. Tell the driver if you want a short stop for coffee or the toilet, and mention children or elderly passengers so the pace is gentle. Luggage space is rarely a problem in a Vito, and a Sprinter is available for larger groups.
Where in Çeşme are you staying?
Çeşme faces the Greek island of Chios, and its castle, built in 1508 under Sultan Bayezid II, overlooks the town and houses the museum. The marina is nearby, and the ferries to Chios leave from the port in the centre. Most big resort hotels are not in the old centre at all. They are strung along Ilıca, about 5 km east of town, with its thermal springs and a sandy beach, and further out around Dalyan, Boyalık and Çiftlikköy.
Drop-off in the centre
The area around the castle, marina and ferry port is compact, and the one-way streets get busy in summer. If you are staying in the centre, the driver stops as close as traffic allows and you finish on foot. Ilıca and Dalyan hotels are reached on ordinary roads and rarely need any walking.
Havaş coach, taxi or private transfer
There is a scheduled Havaş coach from Adnan Menderes Airport, stopping at Urla and Alaçatı before it ends at Çeşme Otogar. Havaş lists about 100 minutes and several departures a day, although the timetable changes by season, so check havas.net. The coach is the economical option if your hotel is near the bus station and you do not mind waiting for a departure. The coach does not drive to hotels, so you still need a taxi from the otogar to reach Ilıca or Dalyan.
A private transfer removes the waiting and the second leg. The vehicle is yours alone, goes door to door, and the price is per vehicle, not per head, so a family travels on one fare.
Meeting your driver
After you land, a WhatsApp message from the driver gives the precise meeting spot, a few steps beyond the arrivals doors, plus a short video of the walk. Our drivers speak English, so a call is simple if something changes.
Planning the first evening
Many guests land at ADB and want to be at a restaurant in Alaçatı or by the Çeşme marina the same night. Work out the drive time, add check-in at the hotel, and be realistic about bags and tired children. Tell your hotel your estimated arrival, and write us if the flight changes, as we will see the update anyway.
🔁 Going home: Çeşme back to İzmir Airport
You can book the way back in the same booking: choose a return trip on the booking form and enter the date and pickup time for your flight home. On the day, your driver waits at your hotel entrance or your address at that time and helps with your luggage.
From Çeşme the drive back takes about 65 minutes without traffic, so for an international flight choose a pickup about 4½–5 hours before departure, and about 3½–4 hours before a domestic flight. For a flight at 18:00, that means a pickup between about 13:00 and 13:30.
Traffic: İzmir traffic is heaviest on weekday mornings and evenings on the ring road and the roads into the airport; in summer the roads to and from Çeşme and Kuşadası are much slower at weekends and on public holidays, so leave earlier then.
