The car follows the coastal road west to the turning inland at Gümüldür, then crosses Menderes towards the airport in Gaziemir. The drive takes 55 to 70 minutes, with the slow spots being the beach strips on summer weekends and any tractor or lorry on the inland road. Because it is not a motorway, leave a bigger margin than the map suggests.

For an international flight, a pickup about four hours before departure is comfortable in summer. A domestic flight can run closer. Changeover Saturdays and Sundays are the days to build in extra time, because hundreds of holidaymakers are heading for the same terminal.

Resort check-out is usually late morning, which does not always match an evening or early-morning flight. Bus and train from Özdere
The public way out is ESHOT 775 to Cumaovası Aktarma Merkezi, then İZBAN one stop to the airport station. Two changes with suitcases and children is not what most holidaymakers want at the end of the week, and the first İZBAN of the day leaves around 05:20, so it does not suit early flights. ESHOT's own airport buses run only at night.
Which terminal?
İzmir Airport has an international terminal and a domestic terminal in separate buildings. Charter and scheduled flights from abroad leave from the international one. Check your ticket, and message us if it is unclear.
