From the Bayraklı towers the airport is a straightforward run south, but only if you leave before the ring road clogs. Your driver collects you from the lobby, hotel or hospital entrance you name, at the time you set, and stops at the departures door of the correct Adnan Menderes terminal.

When to leave Bayraklı for a flight
Off-peak, the drive to Adnan Menderes takes 25 to 35 minutes by the Altınyol bay road and Yeşildere Caddesi, or via the toll-free İzmir Ring Road (O-30) and its Bayraklı tunnels. Between roughly morning and evening commute peaks, 45 to 60 minutes is more honest. The towers empty onto the same roads at the same time, so a pickup at nine on a weekday morning is a different proposition from one at two in the afternoon. For an international flight, we suggest a pickup three and a half hours before departure, with another half hour on weekdays at the busy times.
Pickup from a tower, a hotel or the hospital
Business towers and hotels around the bay have forecourts and car-park entrances, so the driver can wait close to your lobby. Please give us the building name and the entrance, since several towers stand close together. If you are leaving after a stay at İzmir Bayraklı City Hospital, which opened in 2023, name the gate; a large hospital has more than one entrance. In older uphill streets, the car waits at the nearest corner wide enough to stop.
International or domestic terminal?
The airport has two separate buildings, one for international and one for domestic flights, standing side by side. Tell us which applies to your flight so the driver drops you at the right departures entrance. If in doubt, look at the airline's departure information for your flight.
İZBAN from Bayraklı, and why some guests still book a car
Rail is a real alternative here. İZBAN stations at Salhane, Bayraklı and Turan connect directly to Adnan Menderes Havalimanı, no change required. The station sits in front of the Domestic Terminal, and signed Metro–İZBAN routes with a moving walkway lead on to the International Terminal. The weak point is the start of the journey: getting from a tower or hotel to the station with bags. A car removes that leg, and it also covers an early flight, before the first trains run.
Leaving after a meeting or a hospital stay
Many departures from Bayraklı follow a meeting, an inspection or a hospital visit, so the exact finish time is rarely certain. Book the pickup for the latest time that still leaves your safety margin, and keep the driver's WhatsApp contact handy. If the meeting overruns, message us as early as you can and we will arrange the change. Leaving hospital after treatment? Mention it when you book, so that the driver can come to the entrance with the shortest walk to the car.
If you want to see the Tepekule mound, the site of Old Smyrna, on your last morning, check first whether visitors can enter the excavation area, as we could not confirm it. Then book the pickup from the nearest road rather than the site itself.

🛫 Bayraklı to İzmir Airport: when to leave for your flight
The drive takes about 25 minutes without traffic. Most airlines ask you to be at the airport about 3 hours before an international flight and 2 hours before a domestic one, so from Bayraklı plan a pickup about 3¾–4 hours before an international flight and 2¾–3 hours before a domestic flight. Always follow your own airline’s advice.
Example: for an international flight at 14:00, book your pickup for between about 10:00 and 10:15.
