Beydağ is far from the coast and far from any tourist route, which is exactly why a pre-booked car makes sense. Your private driver tracks your flight into Adnan Menderes Airport, meets you just outside the arrivals exit and drives the long way inland to the small town in the south-east of İzmir province.

The way inland: Torbalı, Ödemiş, Beydağ

From the airport the driver heads south on the D-550 to Torbalı, then turns east on the D-310 towards Ödemiş. The last leg leaves Ödemiş on the local road 35-33 and climbs to Beydağ. The drive takes roughly 105 to 130 minutes, which is longer than the distance suggests because the final stretches are ordinary country roads rather than motorway. You are travelling away from the city and the coast, so plan for a fairly long day if your flight lands late.

If you would like to stop in Ödemiş for food or a supermarket, mention it on WhatsApp. The town is the natural halfway point on the route.

What kind of place is Beydağ?

Beydağ is the least populous district in İzmir province, with about 12,000 residents, set between Ödemiş and Kiraz and bordering Aydın's Nazilli and Sultanhisar districts. It became a district in 1987, when it separated from Ödemiş. The Küçük Menderes river rises here. The economy is farming and livestock; figs, chestnuts and olives are the main crops, and the local chestnuts have a name for quality.

Where you will sleep, and where the car stops

There are very few hotels in Beydağ, and most visitors stay in Ödemiş instead, so check that your accommodation is confirmed before you travel. The town centre has ordinary streets where the driver can stop at the door. Rural neighbourhoods sit on narrow roads, so if you are heading to a village house or a farm, send the address pin and a phone number for your host.

Is public transport an option?

Only in stages. The regional train from the airport station to Ödemiş appears in third-party timetables, and buses also run to Ödemiş, but the onward link from Ödemiş to Beydağ by local minibus is something we could not verify, so ask your host before you count on it. With bags and a late arrival, a private transfer straight to the door saves a lot of uncertainty.

A small place at the end of a long road

With about 12,000 residents, Beydağ will not match a city for shops and services, so buy anything essential in İzmir or Ödemiş before you arrive. The district borders Aydın's Nazilli and Sultanhisar districts, and the Küçük Menderes river rises within it, which shows how far inland the district lies. Tell your host your landing time, because the driver will message you on WhatsApp after you land and can also call the host when the address is hard to find.

It also helps to agree with your host whether the car should take you to the house, or to the town centre where somebody can meet you. Either works for the driver; it simply saves a phone call at the end of a long day.

🔁 Going home: Beydağ back to İzmir Airport

You can book the way back in the same booking: choose a return trip on the booking form and enter the date and pickup time for your flight home. On the day, your driver waits at your hotel entrance or your address at that time and helps with your luggage.

From Beydağ the drive back takes about 110 minutes without traffic, so for an international flight choose a pickup about 5¼–6¼ hours before departure, and about 4¼–5¼ hours before a domestic flight. For a flight at 18:00, that means a pickup between about 11:45 and 12:45.

Traffic: İzmir traffic is heaviest on weekday mornings and evenings on the ring road and the roads into the airport; in summer the roads to and from Çeşme and Kuşadası are much slower at weekends and on public holidays, so leave earlier then.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the drive from İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport to Beydağ?

Plan on about 105 to 130 minutes, via the D-550, Torbalı, Ödemiş and the local road into Beydağ.

Are there hotels in Beydağ?

Very few. Many visitors stay in Ödemiş, so confirm your accommodation before you travel.

Can the driver take me to a village or farm address?

Usually yes, if the road is passable for a Vito. Send the address pin and a host phone number when booking.

Is there public transport from ADB to Beydağ?

Not directly. You could reach Ödemiş by train or bus and continue locally, but we could not verify the last link, so ask your host.

İzmir airport to Beydağ: taxi or transfer?

On a run this long and this rural, a booked transfer with the price shown before you pay is easier than finding a taxi willing to go.

Where is the meeting point at ADB?

Just outside the arrivals exit of the terminal you land at, confirmed by WhatsApp message once you have landed.
