Nazilli is an inland market town in the Büyük Menderes valley, not a resort, and most guests arrive for family, work or a stopover on the way to Denizli. Nazilli is the second-largest town in Aydın province, about 45 km east of Aydın on the road to Denizli. It is a market centre for dried figs, olives and cotton, and its Sümerbank factory, opened in 1937 and closed in 2002, was the first cotton-print factory in Türkiye. Hotels are few and sit in the town centre; the ancient city of Nysa that many visitors ask about lies in neighbouring Sultanhisar, not in Nazilli itself.
The way from ADB: motorway or state road
The driver takes the O-31 toll motorway south to Aydın, then has two choices: the Aydın–Denizli Motorway, a toll road that now runs past Nazilli, or the older D-320 through Köşk and Sultanhisar. The motorway is usually the quicker option, and the driver chooses between the two on the day. Plan on one hour forty minutes to two hours in total.

Landing late and driving east
Many flights reach İzmir in the evening, and the valley road is quiet after dark. The driver tracks your flight, so a late landing does not cost you the pickup. If you have been travelling all day, say so and the driver can keep the ride calm, with one stop at Aydın if you want a drink or a short walk. Larger families can use a Sprinter, and a standard Vito carries up to six passengers.
What you will see on arrival
Nazilli's centre is compact: shops, a market, the railway station and the bus station all lie close together, and the cotton-mill history is part of the town's identity. Most visitors are not looking for beaches, so the usual pickup spots are hotels, family homes and offices, and the driver will message the arrival time to anyone waiting for you.

Streets in Nazilli are ordinary town roads, so the car can generally reach the hotel entrance, an apartment block or a family home. The railway station and the bus station are both in town, which makes the centre a convenient place to meet relatives who are travelling on to Denizli.
Train, Havaş or private car?
Regional trains between İzmir and Nazilli are listed as stopping at the airport station, so rail is a real option; check the current TCDD timetable, because stops and frequencies change. Havaş lists an Airport–Nazilli bus route of about two and a half hours via Köşk, Sultanhisar and Atça, but no departure times were showing when we last checked, so confirm on havas.net. A private transfer from İzmir Airport to Nazilli removes the timetable question, particularly after a late landing.
🔁 Going home: Nazilli back to İzmir Airport

From Nazilli the drive back takes about 100 minutes without traffic, so for an international flight choose a pickup about 5¼–6 hours before departure, and about 4¼–5 hours before a domestic flight. For a flight at 18:00, that means a pickup between about 12:00 and 12:45.
Traffic: İzmir traffic is heaviest on weekday mornings and evenings on the ring road and the roads into the airport; in summer the roads to and from Çeşme and Kuşadası are much slower at weekends and on public holidays, so leave earlier then.
