Aydın is the closest of the big inland cities to Adnan Menderes airport, a motorway run of about 70 to 90 minutes. Your driver follows your flight, meets you just outside the arrivals exit and takes you to Efeler, the central district, so you reach your hotel in the city centre without waiting for a coach.

Straight down the O-31 to Aydın
The route could hardly be simpler. From the airport the car joins the İzmir–Aydın Motorway (O-31), a toll road, and stays on it all the way to the Aydın junctions and the ring road, then turns into the centre. The motorway runs south-east through the Menderes valley towards the Büyük Menderes basin. Count on 70 to 90 minutes; entry to Aydın is heavier at weekday rush hours.
Efeler: what the district name covers
Efeler is the central district of Aydın, formed in the 2012–2013 local-government reorganisation from the former central district. Hotels with an Efeler address are in the city proper. The district contains the ancient city of Tralleis, and the Aydın Archaeological Museum, founded in 1959, is here too. The main campus of Aydın Adnan Menderes University is also in the district, which keeps the centre lively during term.
The wider Menderes valley is known for Aydın figs, which hold a registered geographical indication. A famous find from the Tralleis area, the Seikilos epitaph, often described as the oldest complete song with surviving musical notation, is now kept in the National Museum of Denmark in Copenhagen.
Hotel, otogar or railway station?
Most accommodation in Efeler is business and city hotels near the station and the main boulevards; there are few resort-style places. Streets are ordinary and carry no access restrictions, so the car can normally stop at the entrance. The bus station and the railway station are separate stops, so if you are meeting someone there, tell us which one.
When you land at ADB
Guests connecting through another Turkish airport sometimes land in the domestic building but are directed to the international building for baggage claim and customs. Do not worry about which exit to use: after landing, your driver sends a WhatsApp message with the exact meeting point and a short video. He waits just outside the arrivals exit and speaks English.

Havaş and rail, honestly compared
Because Aydın is close, public transport is a realistic alternative. Havaş lists an airport–Aydın coach of about 90 minutes ending at Aydın Otogar, and regional TCDD trains are listed between the airport station and Aydın station. Check the current timetables before relying on either. A private transfer matters most when your arrival is late, your party is larger than a seat or two, or your hotel is not next to the otogar.
