From the arrivals exit to the Güzelbahçe coast
Güzelbahçe is a small, mostly residential district on the southern shore of the Gulf of İzmir, between Narlıdere and Urla and roughly 24 km west of the old city centre. It was called Kızılbahçe until 1958. The seafront has a promenade and several beaches, one of them with a Blue Flag, and the fish restaurants cluster in the Yalı and Siteler neighbourhoods. It is a quiet place to arrive after a flight, and that suits most guests who book this route.
ADB has two separate terminal buildings, international and domestic. Your driver waits just outside the arrivals exit of the one you use. If you flew in on an international ticket with a domestic connection, you may be sent to the international building for baggage and customs, so wait for the WhatsApp message with the exact point instead of guessing.
The road west: ring road, then the Çeşme motorway
From the airport the car goes up through Gaziemir, joins the İzmir Ring Road (O-30) and then takes the O-32 İzmir–Çeşme Motorway, a toll road, to the Güzelbahçe junction. In free-flowing traffic the run takes about half an hour, sometimes closer to 45 minutes. The ring road is the slow part on weekday mornings and late afternoons. There is no extra charge for traffic or flight delays.
Getting set down at the right door
Yalı seafront and the coastal road
Most holiday stays sit near the Yalı front or along the coastal road, where there are roadside stopping points. On summer evenings the seafront gets busy, so the driver may stop a few steps from your entrance rather than block the street.
Lanes inland
Residential streets away from the water are narrow and in places steep. Put the street name and building or villa name into your booking. If a Vito or Sprinter cannot turn in, the driver stops at the nearest wide point and carries bags with you.
Public transport to Güzelbahçe
No bus or train runs straight there. By public transport you would ride İZBAN from Adnan Menderes Havalimanı station to Hilal or Halkapınar, change to the İzmir Metro M1 line for Fahrettin Altay, then catch ESHOT line 8 to Güzelbahçe. That is three changes with suitcases. The ESHOT airport buses run only at night, so they will not help in daytime.
So, taxi or transfer? A taxi from the rank by the arrivals exit is reasonable for a solo traveller with a carry-on. A private transfer is the better fit if you arrive late, have a rented villa to find, or travel with children and checked bags.

🔁 Going home: Güzelbahçe back to İzmir Airport
