Before the car arrives
Villa stays often come with owner rules about departure: key handover, closing shutters, reading meters. Do these early rather than in the last ten minutes, because your pickup is timed for the flight. Put cases beside the gate and make sure the villa name and a phone number are in the booking, so that the driver can find the right lane among dozens of similar houses.
Down from the hillside
The first part is a slow descent on narrow lanes. After that the driver joins the Kuşadası–Söke road (D-515) and chooses between two ways north: through Kuşadası and Selçuk, or towards Söke, the D-525 and the İzmir–Aydın Motorway (O-31) at Germencik. The second avoids the resort, which helps on a busy day. The whole drive is about an hour and a quarter without traffic.
Big groups and big vehicles
If you travel with many bags, a Vito may fit the gate while a Sprinter parks on the main road. In that case the driver tells you on WhatsApp where to bring the luggage. Villa guests often leave in two or three households together; list everyone in the booking so the vehicle size is right.
How much margin
For an international flight we suggest a pickup roughly four to five hours before departure. A morning flight means a very early start, and the hillside is dark, so keep a torch or phone light handy for the steps. A domestic flight lets you leave a little later.
Getting to the right terminal
ADB has separate international and domestic buildings. Tell the driver which one your airline uses, and the car pulls up at that departures entrance.
When households leave together
Villa parties often include several families on different flights. List every flight in the booking. If the times differ by more than a couple of hours, two separate transfers are usually simpler than one long wait at the airport. If everyone flies within the same window, one larger vehicle collects the whole group in a single trip down the hill.
Which way to the motorway
Because Soğucak sits above the Kuşadası–Söke road, the driver can look at the morning's traffic and decide which way to head. If you would rather avoid the resort in high season, say so on WhatsApp; the Söke-side route is a valid choice.
The last evening on the terrace
Soğucak's selling point is the view over the Gulf of Kuşadası, so many guests spend the final evening outside rather than packing. Do the suitcases first, in daylight, and leave only washing-up and hand luggage for the morning. Hillside lanes carry sound, so if the car arrives in the small hours, agree a pickup point on the main road to avoid waking neighbours.

🛫 Soğucak to İzmir Airport: when to leave for your flight
The drive takes about 75 minutes without traffic. Most airlines ask you to be at the airport about 3 hours before an international flight and 2 hours before a domestic one, so from Soğucak plan a pickup about 4¾–5¼ hours before an international flight and 3¾–4¼ hours before a domestic flight. Always follow your own airline’s advice.
Example: for an international flight at 14:00, book your pickup for between about 08:45 and 09:15.
- Pickup: you choose the pickup time when you book; your driver waits at your hotel entrance or at your address at that time and helps with your luggage.
- Drop-off: the departures floor of the terminal your flight leaves from: İzmir Airport has two separate buildings side by side, the International Terminal and the Domestic Terminal.
- Traffic: İzmir traffic is heaviest on weekday mornings and evenings on the ring road and the roads into the airport; in summer the roads to and from Çeşme and Kuşadası are much slower at weekends and on public holidays, so leave earlier then.
