Staying in a holiday home in Davutlar means the airport is a good hour and twenty minutes away, with a long coastal road before the motorway. Book a private transfer to İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB) and the driver collects you at your estate gate and drops you at the departures entrance of your terminal.
✅ What's Included
Timing a flight out of Davutlar
Because Davutlar is so far down the coast, build your morning around the flight rather than the other way round. For an international departure, being at the airport about three hours ahead is normal, so a pickup near five hours before take-off leaves room for the road and a calm check-in. Early flights mean a pre-dawn start. Tell your estate guard the night before, in case the barrier or the gate needs opening.
The road out
From the village the driver climbs onto the D-515 towards Söke, joins the D-525 to the Germencik junction and takes the İzmir–Aydın Motorway (O-31) north. The motorway then runs north to the Gaziemir approach. The alternative through Kuşadası and Selçuk exists, but it crosses the resort and the driver uses it only if it is clearer on the day.
Last mornings on the coast
Many guests squeeze in a final swim at Love Beach, the beach also known as Sevgi Plajı. That is fine for a late-afternoon flight. For anything before midday, say goodbye the evening before. The beach lanes are narrow and busy in summer, and a van cannot turn quickly in them.
Handing back the keys
Holiday-home owners often want keys returned and meters read, which can eat half an hour. Do this before the driver arrives. Count your bags too: the Vito takes up to seven, and an extra suitcase bought on the trip is better known in advance.
Coach or car
Havaş buses call at Davutlar Junction, so a coach is possible if the timetable matches your flight; check havas.net. You would first need a way to the junction with your luggage, and the coaches run only a few times a day. A private car avoids both problems.
Two sample timelines
For a 07:30 international flight the car should be at your estate gate around 02:30, which means the barrier and the guard are sorted the evening before. For a 17:30 flight, a pickup around 12:30 gives you a slow final morning, a late breakfast and keys returned before noon. These are guides rather than rules: if your airline asks for earlier check-in, move the pickup earlier. Send us the flight number and we will suggest a time that suits it.
Packing and paperwork the night before
Estate departures go better when everything is ready the evening before. Put passports, boarding passes and any medication in a hand bag, charge your phone because the driver will message you on WhatsApp, and leave the suitcases by the door. Count the bags: the Vito is listed for up to six passengers and seven bags, and a Sprinter takes bigger groups. If anyone in the party has reduced mobility, mention it when booking so the driver can plan where to stop.
If your estate gate is staffed only at certain hours, tell us and we will set the pickup around that.
- Check your ticket for the terminal; ADB has separate international and domestic buildings.
- Travelling with children? Mention it when booking.
🛫 Davutlar to İzmir Airport: when to leave for your flight
The drive takes about 80 minutes without traffic. Most airlines ask you to be at the airport about 3 hours before an international flight and 2 hours before a domestic one, so from Davutlar plan a pickup about 4¾–5½ hours before an international flight and 3¾–4½ hours before a domestic flight. Always follow your own airline’s advice.
Example: for an international flight at 14:00, book your pickup for between about 08:30 and 09:15.
- Pickup: you choose the pickup time when you book; your driver waits at your hotel entrance or at your address at that time and helps with your luggage.
- Drop-off: the departures floor of the terminal your flight leaves from: İzmir Airport has two separate buildings side by side, the International Terminal and the Domestic Terminal.
- Traffic: İzmir traffic is heaviest on weekday mornings and evenings on the ring road and the roads into the airport; in summer the roads to and from Çeşme and Kuşadası are much slower at weekends and on public holidays, so leave earlier then.
- At the airport: Check on your ticket or in your airline’s app which terminal your flight leaves from and tell your driver, so you are dropped at the right building.
