Count backwards from the check-in desk, not from take-off. For an international flight a good rule is to be at departures about three hours before, add the drive of roughly an hour and a half, and keep a half-hour cushion for the ring road., which puts a typical pickup around five hours ahead of the flight. The way back south
The driver leaves town on local road 35-81, takes the connector road to the North Aegean Motorway (O-33) and follows it south, then picks up the İzmir Ring Road (O-30) towards Gaziemir. Sunday afternoons and evenings in summer are the ones to watch, when weekend visitors head back to the city. If your flight is on a Sunday evening, leave earlier than the arithmetic suggests.
Pickup in a small seaside town
Say where you want to be collected: the pension door, the seafront road or the foot of the castle. In the evening the front fills with strollers, so a corner on the main road is often easier for a van than a side lane. Your driver will confirm the spot on WhatsApp.
One last look at the castle
If your flight is in the afternoon, a morning at Çandarlı Castle is realistic, and the ruins of ancient Pitane are just outside town. With a late-evening flight you can enjoy the whole day and set off in the afternoon, so long as bags are packed and the driver knows the plan.
Which terminal at ADB
The international and domestic terminals are separate buildings next to each other. Check your ticket or airline app, then tell the driver; the car stops at the departures entrance of that terminal, and you walk straight to check-in.

The real benefit of an early start from Çandarlı is that a slow ring road costs you minutes of waiting at the airport instead of a missed flight.
