Flying home from Adnan Menderes after a stay in Altınkum or Didim town? A private car collects you at your accommodation at an hour set around your flight and takes you to the departures entrance of the correct ADB terminal. The drive is about two hours, so this transfer is built around working backwards from take-off, not around the sea view.

Work backwards from your flight time

The trip from Didim to ADB takes roughly two hours, sometimes a little longer on weekends in high season. Add the check-in window your airline asks for, usually around three hours before an international departure, and then a cushion for traffic around Söke. As an example, for a 14:00 international flight a pickup at about 08:00 gives a calm journey with a coffee stop to spare. Early flights simply mean an early start, so tell us the departure time and we will suggest the pickup.

Pickup in Altınkum, the marina or the town

Your driver comes to the door of your hotel, apartment or villa. In Altınkum the seafront streets are partly one-way in summer and can be crowded, so agree a pickup point you can reach easily with bags, such as the main road in front of the building. Marina berths have their own entrance and car park, and the driver will wait at the gate if the pontoon is too far for a car.

Before you leave Didim

The drive back along the D-525 and the motorway

Leaving Didim you head inland towards Söke, join the motorway at Germencik and travel north to the airport zone in Gaziemir. Most of the route is flat farmland, and the part that can slow you down is the stretch before the motorway, where summer holiday traffic builds up. That is why the buffer in your pickup time matters more than the speed of the car.

Packing the car on departure day

Holiday luggage grows during a week at the beach, so count your bags before you book. A Mercedes Vito carries up to six passengers and seven bags, and larger groups can travel in a Sprinter. Wet towels and sandy shoes ride better in a separate bag, and anything you will need in the airport queue, such as a light jacket for the air-conditioned terminal, should stay with you.

Which ADB terminal do you need?

İzmir Airport has separate international and domestic buildings next to each other. Check your ticket or airline app for the terminal before the pickup, and tell the driver if it changes. You are dropped at the departures entrance, with check-in desks inside, and your driver speaks English if you need help at the kerb.

Bus, train or private transfer?

Going the other way, the public option is a minibus to Söke, then a train or a coach towards İzmir, then a link to the terminals. It works for travellers with time and one small bag, but a morning flight rarely fits those timetables. A private transfer from Didim to İzmir Airport removes the changes: one vehicle, one agreed pickup time, and the price confirmed before you pay.

🛫 Didim to İzmir Airport: when to leave for your flight

The drive takes about 105 minutes without traffic. Most airlines ask you to be at the airport about 3 hours before an international flight and 2 hours before a domestic one, so from Didim plan a pickup about 5¼–6¼ hours before an international flight and 4¼–5¼ hours before a domestic flight. Always follow your own airline’s advice.

Example: for an international flight at 14:00, book your pickup for between about 07:45 and 08:45.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

How early should I leave Didim for my flight?

Allow about two hours for the drive plus the airline's check-in time, then add a safety margin. For an international flight most guests choose a pickup four to five hours before take-off.

Can the driver collect me from the marina or a villa outside town?

Yes, give us the address or a map pin when you book. If a car cannot reach the berth, the driver waits at the nearest gate or road.

Which ADB terminal will the driver take me to?

Your flight decides it. İzmir has two adjacent buildings, one for international and one for domestic services, so check your booking and tell the driver if anything changes.

Is it possible to stop on the way to the airport?

A short comfort stop is easy to arrange, for example near Söke. Mention it to the driver so it fits your schedule.

What if I need to cancel or change the pickup time?

Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the pickup. Send us a message on WhatsApp or by email and we will update the booking.

Do I pay the whole amount online?

You secure the booking online and pay the rest in cash to the driver. The total, shown before you pay, is for the whole vehicle on your chosen date and time.
