Plan the day around the drive
The journey from this corner of the Bodrum peninsula to ADB takes about three to three and three-quarter hours. For an international flight, add roughly three hours at the airport, which is why early flights from İzmir are awkward from Yalıkavak and midday or evening ones suit better. Give us the flight number when you book and we will propose a pickup time with a safety margin on top.
Leaving a villa or a marina berth
If you are on a boat in Palmarina, the controlled marina entrance means the car waits outside the gate, so agree a meeting point beforehand and keep luggage trolleys close. Villa guests on the steep hillside roads should be ready at the front gate; a large vehicle cannot always turn around on a single-track lane. Our drivers speak English and can talk to your host or concierge if the pickup address is hard to find.
Turning back along the peninsula
- From the north coast the car heads over the peninsula towards the Bodrum junctions.
- Then it follows the D-330 to Milas and the D-525 past Lake Bafa towards Söke.
- The toll motorway O-31 leads to the airport zone in Gaziemir.
Sunday afternoons and the end of a summer fortnight are when everyone leaves at once. We do not charge extra if heavy traffic makes the trip longer.

If you are still choosing flights, Bodrum-Milas is a far shorter ride from Yalıkavak. For travellers who do depart from İzmir, the usual alternative is a coach from the Bodrum area to İzmir Otogar and a train or bus onwards, which is slow when you carry holiday luggage.
🛫 Yalıkavak to İzmir Airport: when to leave for your flight
The drive takes about 195 minutes without traffic. Most airlines ask you to be at the airport about 3 hours before an international flight and 2 hours before a domestic one, so from Yalıkavak plan a pickup about 7¼–8¾ hours before an international flight and 6¼–7¾ hours before a domestic flight. Always follow your own airline’s advice.
