Reaching ADB from the east
The trip begins on the Kemalpaşa connector and follows the İstanbul–İzmir Motorway (O-5), a toll road, towards İzmir. It runs through the Belkahve Tunnel before joining the ring road (O-30), and the final leg goes south past Gaziemir on to the airport. In free conditions allow 40 to 60 minutes. A slower road via Belkahve and Bornova exists, but it is rarely the better choice on a flight day.

Kemalpaşa is a district of factories, and the roads near the industrial zones fill when shifts end. If you leave the plant at the same time as hundreds of workers, the first kilometres are slow. For a flight in the afternoon, we suggest avoiding the hours when shifts change, or at least adding a buffer of 30 minutes on top of your usual margin. Ask your host when the shift ends, and give us that time.
Pickup from a factory, a hotel or the main street
Factories have security gates, so the car meets you at reception. Before the day, send us the company name, the gate and a contact number, and tell the host to expect a driver. In the town centre the streets are ordinary, which makes pickups from a small hotel or apartment easy. A WhatsApp location pin removes any doubt about where to wait.
Airport terminals
The airport has an international terminal and a separate domestic terminal. Tell us your flight number and we use the right departures entrance.
Is there a bus to the airport?
Not a direct one. Minibuses and buses run between Kemalpaşa and Bornova or the Pınarbaşı and Otogar area, and from there you would continue by ESHOT bus, metro or İZBAN to the airport station. The numbers and times need checking locally. Considering the luggage and the connection risk, many travellers prefer a booked car, especially for an early flight, since night-time ESHOT airport lines are limited to a few departures.
Local colour on the way out
If you have an hour to spare, the district has more than cherries: the Karabel rock relief, a late Hittite–Luwian monument, is about 6 km from the town. You will not have time on a flight day, but it is worth knowing if you return.

The drive takes about 45 minutes without traffic. Most airlines ask you to be at the airport about 3 hours before an international flight and 2 hours before a domestic one, so from Kemalpaşa plan a pickup about 4–4½ hours before an international flight and 3–3½ hours before a domestic flight.
